I am from Japan and have lived in NYC for 15 years. I work in the fashion industry. I own a contemporary woman's boutique across the street from the apartment.

Sachiko was very kind and helpful in places I needed to go. The place was tiny which didn't bother me at all. Great location and metro stations few blocks away... also just couple blocks from little Italy and chinatown. Lots of restaurants and bars. Also great location getting around Manhattan. I recommend this stay if you'd like to live like a New Yorker. I'd definitely stay again.
Thanks Sachiko. Had a great time in New York!
Great location. Tiny place but is pretty great value for the money and location! Sachiko was very nice and flexible.
The location is perfect for getting around Manhattan! A 5 min. walk one way and you're in Chinatown, a 5 min. walk the other way and you're in Soho. The train station to midtown is really close too. Sachiko was a terrific host, very sweet, and answered all my questions as well as gave suggestions on which restaurants to try. This is definitely the place to stay for if you want to easily get around to all areas in NYC!
My experience was great. Sachiko was very kind and responsive from the beginning until the end.
The room was exactly as showed in the pictures. Tiny and cozy.
The location was te best of it.
I would stay there again!
Sachiko is very friendly and helpful. her small flat is not very clean, hot and sticky - overall in a bad state. aircon old and very loud. dirty corners. bath tube dirty and very small lavatory.
Sachiko was great to communicate with, really easygoing and a lovely hostess. Her apartment is in the BEST location, with a bunch of different metro lines and so many great restaurants, bars, Wholefoods etc nearby, making this a perfect base for my NY stay. I would definitely stay here again.
Sachiko was a very accommodating host. I flew into New York City and did not arrive until 2am. She was completely fine with my late arrival, and even enthusiastically greeted me before she even saw me while I was carrying my suitcase up the stairs to the fourth floor. Gave me a tour of the apartment and made sure I knew where everything I needed was. She even offered to walk with me to the subway station the next morning. Incredibly nice host.
Although the apartment is small, it was very quaint. It can get a bit noisy at night, so I would consider bringing earplugs if you are a light sleeper. Towels and shampoo/soap were provided. There's air conditioning in the bedroom. There's also two windows (with blinds) in the bedroom so it gets plenty of sunlight. It's only a few minutes walk from the subway station and very close to some awesome restaurants. Most notably from my visit: Lombardi's Pizza (America's first pizzeria) and Katz's Delicatessen (delicious pastrami sandwiches).
All in all, it was a great stay.
Dirty & noisy
I had a nice stay at Sachiko's place.
The apartment is tiny, but as I have been in the city all day long it didn't bother me at all. Sachiko is a very friendly and nice person and has a handful of good tips where to go especially in the neighbourhood. The location of the apartment is great, you're in the middle of Manhatten - a short subway ride to Lower Manhatten (Wall St, World Trade Center) and a short ride uptown to Times Square, Empire State Building...
You have to be aware, that in the old building in a lively street it might be a bit noisy even during the night. But with some earplugs I slept very good in the comfortable bed. Thanks for hosting me, Sachiko!
El lugar es bueno, la pieza es tal como sale en la foto, esta muy bien ubicado, a solo 2 cuadras del metro. Sachiko es muy simpatica y muy preocupada por uno.
