We are from Alaska and live in and work in summers near Denali National Park, Tom as a naturalist and tour guide and Christine as a massage therapist and yoga instructor. In winter we live in Mammoth Lakes, California and Mammoth Mountain Ski Area, Christine doing the same and Tom as a transit driver. The natural world and its wildlife and wild, rugged spaces are central to our well-being, as is our spirituality, and we focus much of our energies and time around those. We are also very big into the arts, especially performing, and have been involved in them to various degrees for most of our lives. We married in Wisconsin in the fall of 2010 and have no kids-- with no immediate plans for such, but are both dog lovers and plan to have one (or two) through someone else's natural childbirth soon! Our favourite pursuits, along with the arts, are hiking/camping, skiing, cycling, volunteer work, reading, and as you may guess, traveling.
We both try, in philosophy and in daily practise, to live a life of love, compassion, and generosity for ALL-- all things, all beings. We believe all great spiritual teachers shared the same messages and lessons, and we try to live as they taught: the above-mentioned, as well as striving toward selflessness, ever less egoism, minimizing materialism and focusing on non-attachment, respect for diversity, and honouring the spirit inherent in others, among other beliefs. We also both whole-heartedly believe in a life of joy, fun and happiness, and try to make that daily living as well! Dave Matthews said, "Celebrate we will, for life is short and not for certain."
