Alfons and Waltrout were very friendly and neat guests.
Alfons and Waltraut were great. It was a pleasure to host them. They were extraordinarily polite, friendly, clean and accommodating. We learned a lot about Germany and Europe in general from them. We shared great conversation, many laughs and several rum smoothies on the lanai during the few evenings they stayed with us. Even after they checked out, we ran into them on the trail down to the Botanical Gardens just off the 4-Mile Scenic Route north of Hilo. By that time, our new guest had arrived and we had a brief international meeting of Americans (us), Germans (Alfons and Waltraut) and British (our new British guest, Richard). It was a fun moment for all of us. They accompanied us to the Sunday morning Maku’u Farmers Market where we enjoyed authentic French Crepes for breakfast. They experienced the Sunday drum circle at Kehena Beach (the black sand beach where spinner dolphins often come to play). They apparently enjoyed it so much that they went back the following day. They also visited one of the local warm tidal pools as well as Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park during their visit here in the Puna District of the Big Island’s jungle side. We would highly recommend hoisting Alfons and Waltraut and very much hope that they visit us again if they ever find themselves in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Thank you Alfons and Waltraut.
Alfons was a great guest! We would welcome him back anytime.
