Apartment was in great area and in great condition. The host, Paul, was very nice and very good in communication! The space is limited, but then again, it's located in a super trendy area, we spent most of our time outside.
The apartment was conveniently located, clean, safe, quiet, affordable, and very small. It was exactly what my group needed, but it can't be understated how comically small this apartment is. Use it for a base of operations and don't really plan to do anything but sleep there. Do that and you will be happy!
The host was pretty welcoming. Toed the right line between making sure we had everything and intruding. The place definitely can't hold more than 5 people but the location is great, the place is clean and at least for me the price was right.
We did not get to meet Paul personally, but he helped coordinate everything over the phone.
The place is smaller than what the pictures might suggest, but that wasn't a problem for our group of 6. It was cozy.
The neighborhood is lively, and there are a lot of people always around. Additionally, there are plenty of restaurants and subway stations nearby.
One of my friends accidentally broke a shoe drawer, but Paul was very accommodating of the entire situation.
Overall, our group had a great experience staying here.
Great stay with Paul in Loverly East village. Little small for 6 people but perfect for say 3-4, great location with all the subways needed just a stones throw away A+++
Location was wonderful. Green and Yellow lines are five minutes walking, so it is easy to move around Manhattan. The apartment has three big beds plus a sofa bed. That's perfect for a group like us, a couple and two single friends. Kitchen and dining room are very small, but as we stayed all the day out it is not a major drawback. Paul gave us only a set of keys, but when we asked for more he managed to get more and was easily solved. So it is a small apartment with a minimalistic kitchen and living room, but comfortable enought for 4 persons and ideally located. We will repeat our experience without doubt.
Just arrived back at home in Italy! We had a very pleasant stay in NYC! The apt is not very big, but suited perfectly our needs and it has been an ideal accomodation for a family like us (needing 3 distinct beds and spending most of the time out in the city!).
We didn't have much trouble to sleep even if the street is quite animated and noisy till morning... this is also its fascination :-).
The subway is near and we moved very easily from there! Recommended!!
Paul has been very quick, helpful and precise in all the information he gave us. He's always been very kind (also for the check-out), so definitely a big plus!
I wish the same good experience we had to all next guests!
Location is perfect - in the middle of the East Village, one block from the subway. If you want stay in a place were the streets are alive until 4 am, stay here. The apartment is small (beds take up all the floor space in the bedrooms, maybe about a foot of space to squeeze around), but small is what you should expect for NYC. The beds are not comfortable - a bit of padding on the beds would have helped a lot. The apartment is not in great shape (radiators are LOUD, bathroom tiling is moldy, ceiling is crack) and you can't do anything in the apartment besides sleep and shower. But you should be out enjoying the city anyway. Stay here to be close to the action and experience life in the East Village. Don't stay here if comfort and space are a priority. Price was commensurate with location and condition. The host let us keep our bags there after the scheduled check out time. Apartment is on the second floor, which is good because there's no elevator in the building.
Sat morning the people upstairs woke me up and kept me awake from 6-730am. I think their table is on top of the separate bedroom with no carpet under it. They pulled out and pushed in the chairs 50 times and walked from from one end of their place to the other with shoes on over and over.
Sunday and Monday mornings were quiet.
There is no heat control. When the rads came on it was too hot. The room with 2 beds needs a 2nd window pane or to have plastic over it. It is cold and drafty right by your head when sleeping.
The apartment was stay with your buddies clean. It is not stay with the wife clean.
The Front door to the aptartment has a gap and someone has tried to pry it open. This is a little scary. Across the hall the neighbours door closes flush.
The fire alarm in hallway outside the apartment beeped all weekend. The neighbours came home late Friday and Saturday night late and were loud. No worries, but it's funny when he stresses to be quiet so much.
texts 0,75$, phone 1.50/min. Being concise and clear would be nice. Paul was clear but he kept calling and texting the same info that I told him I have read and understood.
I spent $10-15 in calls and texts to Paul.
-Paul woke me up at 8am day of leaving to ask how my trip was. I told him "good except I had my alarm set for 930am and you just woke me up. Then he texted back at 10am to ask when we're leaving. How bout a sorry for waking you up! at 10am he also sent me the same instructions for the 2nd time in text, and that he had already told me on the phone the second time he called me Friday which said "lock the bottom door lock when you leave and leave the keys in the apartment".
Then he texts me at 1130 again to ask if the door is locked.
Our trip to the city was great and the location was in a good central place to all that we wanted to do. Great pubs around the corner and lots within walking area.
