We ask that guests leave the apartment as it was presented to them.
The property was not left in any way like it was presented to the guest.
Sand was all over the apartment.
The sink was full of dirty dishes, cups and cooking utensils.
The floor was left in a disgusting state.
There was sand on the middle shelf of our custom dining table with foot marks clearly showing that the guest was putting their dirty feet on the table and misusing it.
We have very low cleaning fee because history of previous guests has shown a proper level of respect and cleanliness.
It is important to maintain this level of respect between guest and host as this keeps the costs down for the guest.
This standard was not maintained by this guest.
The guest was also over an hour late.
Airbnb is not a HOTEL SITE, private owners who have their own schedules and work commitments offer their properties.
Keeping a check in time is essential to ensure appropriate respect for the individual hosts time. We are understanding to delays but apologies or courtesy of notification prior to being late is not a difficult thing to extend.
Upon arrival our check in host displayed the apartment and provided local restaurant, tourist and shopping information as per standard procedure.

This sofa bed had been reenforced with steel bracing around the legs yet was still somehow broken.

Sofa beds have weight limitations and will break if misused, like most furniture.
They are not designed for large weights, loads or usage outside of the manufactures specifications.
The guest failed to communicate at any stage that one of their party was disabled and that they may or would require assistance of any form.
There was no request for assistance on check in by any of their party.

There is ample parking in the street plus there is a huge car park across the street less than 40m from our building.

Two 'blocks' takes you over half a kilometer away from our building so I fail to understand where the guest was parking.
We have no negative reviews from any previous guest regarding parking unavailability.
Unwarranted comments regarding our meet and greet host.
There has never been a case of unprofessional or rude behaviour or treatment to any of our previous guests including this guest.
Our building is maintained regularly by a cleaner, we do not agree that the property was or is dirty.
This is not a hotel with valet parking.
Our previous reviews can testify to our reputation.
I would not recommend this guest at all.
