I am mexican, architect, love outdoor living, biking, sailing and architecture.
I love traveling and having the feeling of merging in with the place by not staying in a hotel.
To celebrate my 40th birthday, as well as Valentine's Day, my wife and I recently chose to visit Mexico City for the first time. After brief research, we decided what area we wanted stay in...and discovered Rodrigo's perfect apartment!
The building was very beautiful, located fairly close to many wonderful sites, and just a few short blocks from the Insurgentes Metro line. We had breakfast (coffee, sandwiches, pastries) every single morning at Panaderia Rosetta, directly downstairs. Right next door was Fonda San Diego, where we enjoyed Valentines Day dinner. Both eateries were very delicious and very convenient :)
The 4 nights we slept in the apartment were some of the most restful nights we've had in a long time, partly due to being worn out from our exploring the city wonders all day long, but mostly because of the very comfortable memory-foam bed! What a great bonus for our vacation.
4 days obviously was not enough time to see everything city has to offer, so we will be coming back soon. And when we do, we will definitely make plans to stay at Rodrigo's apartment again!
Good location. .. very close to both subway and Metrobus stations. Apartment was clean and new. We appreciated the washer and dryer too.
My Husband and I spent a week at the apartment and had a wonderful time. The apartment is in a great location within walking distance to many restaurants, cantinas and shops. It was well equipped and very spacious and comfortable. Rodrigo checked up on us to make sure we had everything we needed.
There is a lovely cafe just downstairs and a brand new restaurant which opened while we were staying there.
I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Response from Rodrigo:
Thnx for the kind words!!
Rodrigo is an amazing host. He really pays attention to details and is always trying to anticipate your needs. I asked the guard the first morning if there was a way to turn off the light on the hallway at night to make the room a little darker. When I came home Rodrigo had already ordered the installation a thick curtain in the room! Really a wonderful gesture and a very quick reaction.
Staying at this home is a real experience! The area called "Colonia Juarez" was, in the late 1800's and beginning of the 1900's the most elegant residential area of Mexico City. It had huge mansions built and decorated on the European style of the time. There is an awesome new trend to rescue these buildings and transform them into modern spaces. This one is a particularly extraordinary example. It is also very comfortable and really cozy. Highly recommended! The area is very central and close to everything.
Rodrigo is a great host and very responsive. The apartment was comfortable and was a great location. Thank you!
I loved staying at this great loft: no detail was overlooked in this mix of old, modern, and industrial space...and Rodrigo was awesome!
The house was clean, the linens soft and warm, the kitchen well-stocked, the downstairs café a delight, the neighborhood chic, the transportation 2 blocks away, and the entrance security personnel helpful (they happily stored my luggage for a few hours after check-out)...I really enjoyed resting there at the end of day and hope the next time I visit Mexico City the space is available!
I took the metrobus (the station is a block and half away) to the airport...the trip door to door was 1 hour 10 minutes. A police officer is stationed at every station and all I approached were eager to help. The bus slowed down at the Centro Historico and it was a great way to take in the sights.
I really enjoyed my stay at the apt. Having traveled in DF before I knew that this neighborhood was safe and close to the metro. I was even more pleased when I arrived, the doormen were all very helpful and polite and I felt secure knowing there was someone outside most of the time. The coffeehouse downstairs rivaled those in Italy - the cappuccinos and pan were amazing. I loved that I was within walking distance of the metro, which means you could get anywhere in DF quickly. There were plenty of restaurants and mercados within walking distance. And a the best part a sitio station right on the corner. Overall the neighborhood had a great revival young hipster to it - which coming from San Francisco I enjoyed.
The apt was beautifully decorated and set up for all your needs and then some. The special touches of water, wine, and Jack set out made us feel special. Everything is new and modern which was nice and again made you feel as though you were staying somewhere special. I loved the apt so much I could imagine myself living there. :)
Rodrigo, although we never met, was quite accessible and easily reached through email or call.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat and since I plan on making a trip to DF a yearly thing I would be more than happy to return.
This apartment is AMAZING! Beautiful, super centric and extremely comfortable and relaxing. It has a great coffee shop next door and a ton of restaurants walking distance. Rodrigo was super helpful and kind he is the perfect host.
I'd stay here a million more times.
This apartment is so wonderful! Four of us stayed here and were extremely comfortable and found the living quarters beautiful, relaxing and perfect for our stay. fabulous balcony to enjoy coffee on in the mornings -- not to mention two GREAT coffee shops right next door. Rodrigo was extremely helpful as well -- always answered our questions right away. Wonderful place to stay in a PERFECT neighborhood to explore Mex City. the BEST
Rodrigo and his group were great guests. They respected our home and belongings, and we would gladly invite them back!
