The location is central and very close to all possible amenities including transit, coin laundry, dry cleaning, grocery store and lots of restaurants. The apartment is decorated wonderfully! It's a railroad style apartment which was well furnished and the bed was very comfortable. Although I didn't use anything, it's equipped with everything you need in the kitchen, and they kindly left the necessities in the bathroom as well along with an iron, spare bed sheets and towels. Would recommend to anyone...
Lia was in communication every step of the way, from check in through check out.
The apartment is beautifully decorated! It's a railroad style, so you can walk through the apartment end to end. It's got absolutely everything you need in the kitchen, and they kindly left the necessities in the bathroom as well. We had one minor plumbing issue while I was there, but Lia had someone in and out of the apartment the next day while I was at work. 5* for service!
The bed...it is so unbelievably soft. I came in after a 12 hour flight and I was beyond pleased with the enormous pillows and fluffy duvet. It was like sleeping on a cloud. They also have a nifty projector next to the bed so you can watch movies on the white wall in front. I didn't want to mess up the tech situation but I'm sure they'd help if you shot them an email.
The location is fantastic. About a 7-8 minute walk to BART/Muni and about 2 minutes from a bus stop that will bring you right to the FiDi. Laundry is right around the corner, and if you're hungry you've got Sushi, Lebanese, a diner (mmm, Stacks), several coffee shops and cafes and a grocery store all within throwing distance.
Things to note: If you're a light sleeper you might have an issue with the street noise. The jetlag made this a non-issue for me but note that the street outside is busy, and it stays busy all night. The apartment also gets warm (when the weather is warm) but there is a fan, and you can open up windows at both ends of the apartment and get a cross breeze!
Andrew & Lia make it very easy for me to get access to the apartment. The apartment looks like advertised, clean and comfortable. Hayes Valley is a great neighborhood is pretty cool. A lot of nice restaurant, café, etc.
Andrew's place is in the perfect neibourghood! Hayes Valley is so close to everything we wanted to see, and full of marvelous place to shop or eat at any time! Really easy to find, very convenient to go running at Golden Gate Park... perfect!
The appartment itself is exactly as pictured and described, very clean, sunny with the bow-window on a side and the deck on the other... Very trendy furniture, everything needed to cook if you want... All the connections even if the European you are has forgotten "l'adaptateur"! Perfect too!
And special thanks to Ashton the neighbour, very nice and helpful!
I stayed at Andrew's place a few weeks ago and couldn't have had a better experience. The apartment is centrally located in Hayes Valley, just steps away from fantastic restaurants, bars, coffee shops (importantly) and stores and easily accessible by BART, bus, or street car. If you're wanting to explore San Francisco, Hayes is the perfect launching ground.
Andrew was an excellent host, very responsive, and getting set up was a breeze. The apartment itself is gorgeous, just as pictured, and was spotless when I arrived. I especially loved the back deck; it was the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee in the early mornings or to relax with a glass of wine in the evenings. Speaking of wine, Andrew left a bottle that I enjoyed immensely. He also left of list of recommended spots in the neighborhood, and all were great. I highly recommend Blue Bottle and Bar Jules.
If you're headed to San Fran in the near future, stay here!
The apartment is in a cool location, just around the corner from great restaurants, cafes and boutiques. SF in general is a very walkable city but there's also a bus stop one block away that will get you into the direction of Golden Gate Park or the downtown area. Andrew's place is stylish but most importantly very clean, the bed was very comfortable (feels like a new mattress). The building is quiet with friendly neighbors and although Fell Street looks like a busy street it was pretty calm at night. Andrew was a really cool guy, quick to respond and not fussy about check in and check out times. He kindly left a complimentary bottle of wine that came from his vineyard and it was very good! The patio is a neat place as well as the sun deck, which is actually the roof accessible via a step ladder. Great place to sit and do some sketches! Would stay here again. Thank you for everything!
My mom came to visit me in San Francisco and she stayed in Andrew's apartment on Fell St. The apartment is beautiful and cozy and located in the best neighborhood in SF. It's just a few blocks from Alamo Square and very close to many shops, cafes, restaurants and it is very safe. The Panhandle, Haight-Ashbury neighborhood and Golden Gate Park are also very walkable distances from the apartment. Fell Street is a busy street and can be a little loud at times but that was a small issue to an otherwise perfect apartment and location. The place has some great books to browse, a selection of DVD's to watch from the projector and warm, welcoming neighbors. Andrew also left a complimentary bottle of delicious wine for us to enjoy. Thanks Andrew for a wonderful stay! We would recommend your apartment to our closest friends and family.
