It was really cofortable! Phil was a great host, he helped us in a lot of things and all the information he told us was very useful. It is very easy and quick to get into the city and the view in the morning just added to an awesome experience in NYC.
Staying what we affectionately named the "love boat" was great fun. Our first AirBnB experience leaves us wanting more. Phil does live on the boat but its not in the slightest bit imposing, he makes it very comfortable to be there, in his home which is important to allow you to properly relax. Even when we went to sit on top to watch the sun setting on the Manhattan skyline we didn't feel like we were being rude by not sitting to chat with him. And as for the hospitality, I compere it to how we are with family when. they stay over... You don't get that anywhere else. As for the location amazing, 1 bus stop from the centre of NY so say 25mins to Times Sqaure yet with the calm of being away from it when you return in the evening.
The only downside. Swaying when you are stood on dry land!
Everything was just as described. Cosy and comfy on the boat. Lots of rocking in the morning but it's a boat after all.
Phil was very kind and helpful, sent us good info before we arrived and met us at the boat even though we got a little lost. He was very informative and attentive.
Area is very nice. Gorgeous views of the Manhatten skyline and easy enough to get to NYC although the buses were never on time, they did always come.
Overall, no complaints at all. A lovely stay.
Philip made us feel very welcome and was very helpful right from the start. He stayed up very late to greet us (our train was 4 hours late), he helped us when the taxi driver tried to rip us off, lent us cash until we could get to an ATM in the morning, had lots of pastreis and fruit for us, provided loads of helpful advice for getting the best out of New York and helped us sort out a taxi to the airport. So well beyond the call of duty! The boat was great - views were fantastic, the boat comfortable and well-equipped.
Staying on Phil's boat was my first Air BnB experience. Phil made it a fantastic one. He met me me at the bus stop, which is right outside the marina. He made sure I knew everything I needed to about my stay onboard.
Although I had been to NYC many times, and had plans for a lot of my time up there already set, Phil was able to point out some really cool places to visit that were exactly in line with what I like to do.
Very accessible host and awesome unusual place to crash so close to the city. I felt as though i found a private little cabin right next to Manhattan.
The marina is quiet and safe, and the bed was quite comfortable. Everything I needed was provided, Phil even had some fresh croissants and bananas left out for breakfast.
One thing to keep in mind, if you plan to stay out very late in NYC...the buses from Port Authority to the marina do not run between 2am-6am. Your only option at that time is a taxi. At any other time though there a many different convenient ways to travel between the two.
Highly recommend staying here!!
Phil was a great host. Very accommodating and knowledgable about the neighborhood and gave me many references for how to get around and a good explanation of how to work all of the fun media stuff on the boat. The marina is quiet and amazing, neighbors were peaceful and the boat was full of books, records and Netflix.
A very laid back stay - will book again!
Phil was a great host! He made himself very accessible, was full of knowledge about how to move around NYC and made the night spent on his yacht a wonderful experience! It was exactly as described and the views of Manhattan are simply breath taking. The boat was very clean and roomy and I really had the best time. I would highly recommend staying there if you are considering a stay in the Manhattan area. $5 and you can take the ferry right across the water and arrive in Manhattan in under 10 minutes. Really can't beat it. Especially being on the water and enjoying the sunrise and sunset over Manhattan.
Phil was a great host! The boat is in an amazing area, free parking, super close to the train station and the buses. The View of Manhattan was absolutely amazing
