I'm a traveler too, welcome to my town ~
We arrived in quite late evening. Phil is very enthusiastic accommodating us. One of the fantastic thing is a huge storage of film and music you could click and watching. Dancing as loud as possible in the living room is also an unique experience. The area is really worth spending some time walking around. Thanks again Phil!
My girlfriend and I were going up to the city on a Saturday night. I was looking for places to stay, and Phil was able to accommodate us with only a few hours notice. He met us at the gate and even carried our bags to the boat. He gives you a free parking pass, which saves an enormous amount of time, effort and money. (If you've ever driven into the city on a weekend night, you'll understand.) He showed us the amenities that were offered inside on land and then brought us to the boat. The boat is immediately across the river from Manhattan, with a spectacular view of the Empire State Building. He offered us a drink then helped us plan our way into and throughout the city down to every last detail. What makes Phil extraordinary, however, is that when we missed the bus in, he talked to us on the phone and gave us an alternative to get into the city (Mind you it is past 11 at this point). He ensured that we were able to have the best time possible not just on his boat, but also in the city. If you are reluctant about sleeping on a boat, I will just say that we stayed during a storm and still slept like logs. Phil gave us the amenities and hospitality that would have costed us $400 in Manhattan. We will definitely contact Phil next time we visit New York, hopefully when the weather is a little more enjoyable.
Staying on Phil's boat was probably the best part of our trip to New York. It is very cozy, has a simply stunning view over Manhattan and can be easily reached by means of public transport. Phil has been very friendly & welcoming, he was of course well-informed and everything in regard to our stay was organised in a way that made our stay there very pleasant - we couldn't have wished for a better host and experience. Thank you!
Phil is a really great host. He was very nice and helpful during our stay, always made sure we didn't have any problem finding our way in the city and back to the harbor. The boat is fairly spacious and very cosy, with a beautiful view of the Manhattan skyline.
We were there for New Year's Eve during the snowstorm and the heaters were enough to keep the cabin warm.
We had a great time in NYC and the boat was definitely a bonus.
Phil is a marvellous host, he was here when we arrived at 5pm and when we leaved at 9pm, he has done his best to make us feel at home. It s was very good experience, no problems and phil is very convenient. The boat is comfortable once you are used to the swinging, and at night it s very quite and no balancing! Notice that the only toilets onboard are in the biggest room, well fitted for 2 persons, and the other room is better for one person. Thank you Phil and long life to your boat! :)
Phil has been one of the best experiences on airbnb, I'm very thankful with all the help and kindness that he showed during my stay.
He helped me carrying my luggage and giving me good advice everything I needed.
The boat is very nice, there's good space on the boat, and amazing internet connection which I really appreciate when I'm traveling.
I'll try to contact Phil on my next trip to NY, definitely, I would stay again.
I recommend this place.
Phil is a great host. He takes time to know his guests and is willing to freely offer ideas and suggestions. We only stayed one night but would love to have had more days. A very nice, though not so tidy, place to stay, away from the hubbub of very metropolitan area. Life on the water is nice. Do be forewarned, entrance to the boat, from the dock, is VERY narrow. If you have issues of being "wide" then this is not the place for you to stay.
I spent one night on Phil's boat ans or was à great expérience with à wonderful view of Manhattan. Phil was very helpfull.
The free parking for my car was definately interesting and bus or ferry to Manhattan are very fast. It was my third visit in new york but never heard about the Highlline until Phil advised me to expérience the Walk.
I highly recommend Phiĺ´s place., the room is nice and clean, wifi works very well
If you are reading this you have stumbled upon AirBnB gold. Book it.
Phil is a rare gem on AirBnB - he's super responsive, accommodating (gave us an early check in and late check out!) and extremely knowledgeable about NYC/NJ (he even subscribes to TimeOut NY so his guests are in the know!). On top of that he's a warm, funny guy with a beautiful boat. We had a wonderful stay and also took advantage of checking out the UNBELIEVABLE view from both the boat and the dock :)
Staying on Phil's boat was a great experience! Phil was very accommodating and flexible when it came to checking in and out. He took the time to sit and explain the myriad of transportation options into the city and even recommended a couple places to visit and walk around in the city. Overall the boat was great, very cozy and a lot more spacious than the pictures suggest. The bedrooms were very clean and comfortable after long days in the city. I would highly recommend Phil's boat.
