Terrific week at Nathan's place, met or beat expectations on all counts:
Hard to beat being one block off the Park.
Quiet tree-lined street, only steps away from the cafes and not many more to the subway.
We liked the terrace a lot. Sweet breeze into the living room.
A/C in the bedroom was even better - it's summer!
Terrific host. He took all of five minutes to respond to my first email, and everything was set in 15. How many people have fresh flowers waiting for the guests?
We didn't mind the couple flights climb; just know there's no elevator.
We really enjoyed our stay at the W 68th St apartment. It's amazingly quiet considering how close it is to shops, subway etc and we particularly liked the deck area which was nice for a glass of wine in the evenings. We would have paid so much more for equivalent space in a hotel.
Nathan is a great host, helpful and very responsive.
It was a nice trip. We explored New Yourk as much as possible.
The appartment location is very nice. Good connection to Central Park, 5th Avenue, Brodway and etc. If you are plaining to visit the city for siteseeing it will be a best place for stay.
Everything was perfect, the appartment is quiet, confortable and so close to the Park, we had a wonderfull time.
Nathan's place is absolutely wonderful, perfectly located with many public transport options nearby (train & bus), loads of restaurants in the vicinity, and quite a few shops where you can easily resupply (Trader Joe's was a "funny" exterience for us).
The terrace is a real benefit and can be used as soon as there is a bit of sun (as it is protected from the wind).
Central Park is just a couple of minutes away which is really great as well in case you miss patch of loan, fancy a romantic walk or just wants to jog a bit.
The flat is full of life and really makes you feel like home. It has everything you need (and more) if you prefer to have breakfast there or for cooking diner in the evening.
Nathan was a terrific host and he went well beyond what you would expect in this kind of situation.
I would definitely recommend the place and would go back there without the shadow of a doubt!
Great stay in Nathan's apartment. Treats waiting for us from Magnolia Bakery! Great location, plenty of space, loved the outdoor space, plenty of closet space, flexible check-out time. The only negatives, 3rd floor tough with a lot of luggage 7 we had no hot water the last 2 mornings.
i travel to the city often for work all over manhattan and We stayed at nathan's place for a week. what a fantastic experience, by far the best i've had on airbnb. nathan was incredibly dilligent about checking in before our trip, and met us himself when we arrived from the airport on the weekend. the apartment is wonderful, and probably under priced given its' location less than a block off a beautiful section of the park. there are great resturants all around, and subway stops to get you anywhere on the island within a short walk. grocery stores are also close by, as well as great shopping.
my wife and 9 month old daughter were perfectly comfortable, and some of her family stayed as well. the apartment easily accomodates a group of 4-5 people without feeling crowded. 2 beds, and 1 1/2 baths, one of them private to a bedroom, and a very functional common space with a good sized kithcen for a ny apartment!
the outdoor deck is lovely, very quiet, and a beautiful addition to this place. can't say enough good about this place, or the host. if you're coming to the city in a group for a visit of any length, don't hesitate about booking this place.
this isn't one of those places with great pictures that make it seem nicer or larger than it is, quite the opposite (not to say the pictures are bad!), but i was surprised how large it was when we arrived.
book this place with confidence, you won't be disappointed!
Nathan's apartment is great. The location is perfect - close to Central Park and Lincoln Center and subways. The apartment was clean and the beds and shower were very good. Nathan was flexible both with arriving and leaving - it couldn't have been easier. I definitely recommend this.
We had a wonderful visit to NYC and staying in Nathan's place made it!
The location was fabulous, just blocks from Lincoln Center, walking distance to the subways and walking distance to Time Square.
Nathan was a perfect host. He met us on the corner of his street to make sure we found the apt. easily. He left us cupcakes from the nearby Magnolia Bakery and lots of maps and info. The apt. was perfect for 2 Moms and teenage daughters with ample room for all to sleep and have privacy. The only adjustment was the dry heat from the radiators. The first night was unbearably hot and we had to leave out some pans of water and open up the door to the terrace to adjust the temperature. Once we worked it out it was great. All in all we got a great taste of living the life of a New Yorker and it was great. It was special and memorable. Would do it again!
This apartment is delightful - has a lovely ambience and 2 spacious bedrooms plus an outdoor area. Very well prepared for our arrival - clean and neat with fresh tulips in all rooms and cupcakes and a bottle of wine to greet us. We found the apartment very functional and we were not deterred by the absence of an elevator although obviously that would not be for everybody.
Nathan was very accommodating about being available to meet us with the keys at a time that was not at all convenient I'm sure. He also made available plenty of tourist guide information brochures and maintained contact without being intrusive via email again answering tourist queries with good suggestions.
We loved the area - being close to the Lincoln Centre, Central Park, the subway, great eating places and shopping - generally a very beautiful part of the city.
No hesitation in recommending this accommodation. It was superb!
Excellent guest, highly recommended.
He is the best host I had!
Nathan is great. Outgoing and incredibly self-sufficient. I really enjoyed getting to know him and hearing about his travels. The pilot light on the water heater went out as I was checking him in. I showed him how to light it again and told him to call me if it kept going out. He lit it himself (probably each time he needed to shower) and never complained. I didn't even know it was still going out until the night before he was checking out. Easy going and a quick learner. Thanks, Nathan!
He is an excellent host!
