I'm a young doctor from New Zealand.
Our stay a Jessica's house was comfortable and private.
The room was warm and sunny and the hosts very helpful.
I would recommend Jess's place.
Lovely house with good facilities. Very close to North Shore Hospital and other amenities. Would definitely reccommend.
Jessica was a very lovely host who was both very polite and accommodating, as well as being very respectful towards the privacy of the guests. The room was clean, well-sized, and very comfortable. And all the amenities in the home - bathroom, WiFi, kitchen - were all solid. Even with the light construction being done while I was there, it was a very homey experience.
As a note, the house is a distance away from downtown Auckland. (This is actually kind of nice, because it's a calm, quiet neighborhood.) Luckily, it only takes five to ten minutes to walk to the main bus station. However, if you plan to spend time in the city proper, you'll want to budget yourself an extra $9 per day for bus fares.
On the whole, I felt very comfortable and welcome here! Much recommended if you'll be in the Auckland area!
Jessica and James are helpful and welcoming. The room was spacious and the curtains had blackout lining and there were also Venetian blinds for privacy. I would recommend this couple's home as a good place to stay within easy reach of buses and access to the city is good.
The reservation was canceled 13 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The room is lovely and spacious and the rest of the house is well appointed. What everyone else has said previously about it being quite close to the bus into downtown is quite true. And it was awesome to be able to buy a bus ticket right at the airport that dropped me off a couple of hundred meters from the front door.
There is a convenience store around the corner and a couple of takeaways there too. I particularly recommend Divinio Pizzeria, the owner Kostas was super friendly. He even offered me a complimentary cup of coffee since I had to wait a bit for something.
There is also a decent inexpensive grocery (Pak and Save) about a 5 minute walk away on the other side of the highway.
For sit down food and pubs Takapuna is about a 20 minute walk away and there is a good beach there as well. I walked over there a couple of times to grab a pint at the end of a long day and it always seemed just a tiny bit too far to be convenient for that.
I did feel a little adrift for my first few days. I happened to arrive shortly after Jessica got off a long night shift and understandably our interaction was pretty much just here's the key, good night. Because of that and my jet lag those first couple of days I didn't really have much chance to interact with my hosts and I kind of had to figure out where everything was on my own. That being said when our schedules matched up and I could ask questions they were very nice and helpful.
Jess was a lovely host. The house and room are very clean and tidy. Good regular transport links to the CBD. Would recommend this place to stay!
Jessica is a fantastic host with a fountain of knowledge. We have recently moved to Auckland and it's great to have a local's insight of the North Shore. The room we stayed in is a great size for our little family and house is in a great location and very quiet neighbourhood. The house has a spacious bathroom and a brand new kitchen with everything you need. Jessica was very kind helping us look out for items of furniture whilst we wait for our shipment coming from the Middle East esp. a fantastic cot for our little girl. It's a daunting experience moving to a new country with no family and friends and having to start from scratch. Jessica has helped us immensely to settle into the Kiwi way of life. I strongly recommend staying in Jessica's beautiful home.
Jessica was very friendly, helpful and made me feel welcomed In her home. She offered help when I enquired what was the best way to get to places in the area? I forgot my cell phone plug and she provided me with one, that was a huge help. I was able to park my car on the street for free and it was safe to do so. A brand new kitchen has been installed and it was great to use. I was able to launder my clothes, which helped as unfortunately Auckland turned on 4 days of rain during my visit, I was there to caddy in a golf event for 5 of those days! The apartment is very well located, only 3 minutes from Takapuna golf club, which was $28 for a round and it was 13 minutes from the North Shore 27 hole golf club. The room and apartment is clean and the photos are accurate, it is a great location. Book your room with the confidence that you can go to Auckland and not have to worry about your accommodation, the property is near the end of a no exit street, so no traffic noise to interrupt your peaceful nights sleep. WIFI was available, which I enjoyed using. The room has great wardrobe space and shelving. Thank you for a great week long stay.
For our first week in New Zealand, everything went well at Jessica's house. She is a very good host, she and her boyfriend are really discreet and let you feel at home. The room is as it is on the photo, comfortable and nice. The house is well located, 10 minutes walk to the bus station. We would recommend a stay there !
Jessica and James were all and more you could hope or wish for in guests, in fact I felt a little guilty at times that I couldnt be more of more assistance. We had a very relaxed and easy Christmas and the ten days just vanished. Highly regarded and well recommended as guests as I'm sure they would equally be as hosts. Thanks Jessica & James and best wishes for the new year!
Jessica e Peggy, sono state delle ospiti fantastiche, molto gentili educate e silenziose, è stato un vero piacere averle con noi. Giulia
