Francesco was really nice and convenient ; he welcomed us at the station and show us the bus and the street to go at the Cinque Terre.
The appartment was very clean and with everything we need.
The 2 negative points was that the appartment is not really close to the city center and the station and the wifi was very slow.
Francesco's place was beautiful, very clean and it had access to the buses and trains..we enjoyed our stay very much!!!
Also alles bestens!
Francesco and his dad were lovely hosts and very accommodating- we were running about 2 hours late and they were very flexible with us. They met us at the apartment and gave us a thorough introduction to the apartment and the area. They had lots of flyers and maps available. Francesco's father gave us fruit from his garden and foccaccia as a treat upon our arrival. The apartment was very clean and a perfect combination of beds and bedrooms for our 4-person family. The porches were lovely in the evening and while we didn't spend a lot of time in the apartment, there were enough places for each of us to spread out and have a little quiet time at the end of the day. It was nice to have a washing machine to use, as we'd been in Europe for two weeks already. Parking was free and plentiful enough- we never had problems parking. We had a couple of questions during our stay and Francesco always seemed to be available when we called or emailed. Thanks for letting us use the place, Francesco! You were a great host!
This was a most excellent apartment. It was spacious, spotless, attractive, and very comfortable, more like a home than a rental apartment. Francesco and his father pay attention to every detail and were sure to point out many details that were useful during our stay. There was even an American coffee maker and an electric panini grill. There is more than ample storage in all rooms for our many items of travel. When we arrived there were treats in the regrigerator and on the table for us --- how special! The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful. It is located outside the city center, but there is a bus stop just outside the building that will take you there. The weather in Italy was unusually cool (even quite cold in some places) during our May visit. We stayed in 6 apartments before LaSpezia, and Francesco's was the only one with heat working at this time of year. We at last could be comfortable. We used this apartment to explore the Cinque Terra. A bus ride and a short walk taking 30 minutes total got us to the train station from which we could quickly access any of the Cinque Terra towns. A bus can also get you close to the boat that goes to the towns, but we didn't use that. There is also plenty of free parking at the apartment.
Francesco was amazing. He picked us up at the train depot and drove us around town pointing out bus stops, alternate train routes, and supermarkets. When we arrived at the apartment his mom had prepared some of the local foods for us to try during out stay and they were fantastic! The apartment was wonderful. It was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. It was close to several bus lines which we found with no problems thanks to Francesco's tour. They had also prepared a few maps of the area, and other helpful information for traveling around the Cinque Terre. It was perfect! I would stay there again if I go back!
I could not meet Francesco as I was travelling myself, but his sister living in London collected the keys and brought them back when i was available. Communication was very smooth, and Francesco and his family left the flat in perfect and clean state after their stay. Only positive things to say :-)
oh, and thanks for the Italian coffee, Francesco!
We enjoyed having Francesco around. He is a great communicator, respectful, clean, fun and friendly. We had some nice chats and he even left some Easter chocolate when he left! I would highly recommend him as a guest.
If you are looking for a place to stay in La Spezia this is the palce!!!! Francesco is a very nice host. He will help you during your stay.
