Arisa or Alisa (wife) Japanese-Texan living in Tokyo. Runs a nonprofit and does freelance work related to food and travel. Native English and Japanese speaker. Loves food and travel of course but also a The West Wing fan, English language comedy (e.g. Louis C.K.), listen to a lot of Jazz 24 and Jango.

Masa (husband) Japanese originally from south west part of Japan now living in Tokyo, works in marketing. Native Japanese speaker but can speak English OK. Loves food and wine but also anything related to numbers especially investing, geography, can speak a little (un poco lol) Spanish.

Profile photo taken in front of the hostel in South Korea where we met for the first time. So our passion for travel brought us together. Married a few years later but went back to the same hostel to visit at the beginning of our one year around the world trip.

Both went on a year around the world trip and have also traveled before and after too so been to more than 70-80 or so countries total.

Keiko (mother-in-law, not in picture) Japanese originally from south west part of Japan now living in Tokyo, currently enjoying retired life. Recently started joining trips with Alisa and son Masa. Cannot speak English but very friendly since she loves to laugh! Loves trying new things, delicious food, sewing her dresses, cooking Japanese food, Korean television dramas, flowers, used to be a hairdresser and masseuse.

If we are able to stay with you, we would love to learn about the local food. We are adventurous eaters and willing to try anything new and different.

We are couchsurfing veterans but Airbnb beginners so we are used to being guests but just on a different platform/service. Looking forward to meeting you.
