I would like to bring to light my stay at Patricia’s and I will write this in the most objective way possible.
My stay was originally planned for 2.5 months;however I quickly realized that my stay would be shorter than this period i'll explain.
Please allow me to briefly summarize the issues I had with both the room, living conditions provided to me,as well as the current tenant,Patricia.
Firstly,I would like to point out that the advert and photos displayed on the website do not accurately portray the true state of this apartment, and notably, the room.Sleeping is difficult:there is a very old and thin mattress with planks of wood underneath that broke and became dislodged the first time I even sat on the bed, this made sleeping impossible. There was an old thin "window"(made with a pvc sheet coming out of its frame and with a tear on it)facing the very noisy St. Denis (website hidden) hair is all over the blankets and sheets,it is impossible that these had been cleaned prior to my arrival given the amount of hair.Dust and general filth was under the bed, no sweeping or cleaning had been undertaken in many months. The personal possessions of Patricia were strewn across the room;the cupboard was already full, forcing me to live out of my suitcase.
Initially disturbing and ‘cagey’ behavior by the tenant Patricia:she sits in the apartment all day and leaves the kitchen and fridge in a state of filth, food and left over meals that had been sitting in the fridge at least throughout the duration of my stay.Despite some positive interactions,I found that Patricia was often cold and unresponsive to me,even when not aware of any issues I had with the apartment.I would like to note that Patricia’s behavior became increasingly aggressive to me when she became aware that I was to cut short my stay at her apartment due to the lack of cleanliness, and the fact that the price she set for this room can only be described as ‘daylight robbery’.Patricia indicated on one occasion to me that renting this room out was “part of her business”.Unfortunately Patricia’s behavior towards me degenerated significantly and this climaxed when I returned the keys to her at the end of my stay.Patricia informed that she was an architect and I was ‘nothing’,she called me a ‘princess with a silver spoon in my mouth’,and swore at me numerous times. This was a very intimidating experience.
Overall, this experience was very disturbing and traumatic for me;it has resulted in both a loss of my time(searching for alternative accommodation)and a degree of emotional trauma(insults and physical harassment from the current tenant). To conclude, I would like to stress to your organization, not to use this individual and her apartment for future business,I hope that this incident does not occur again in the future and some other foreigner like me ends up paying this exorbitant price to live in such unsanitary conditions with this individual whom I believe to be unclean and unstable.
Patricia est riche d'une nature accueillante et sensible qui vous met à l'aise (website hidden) discrétion et sa bonne humeur n'ont d'égal que l'intelligence qu'elle a de les communiquer. C'est une personne rare.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Although I didn't stay long with Patricia, we got to know each other. She was very accommodating and a lovely host.
The location and apartment was excellent and she made us feel very welcome.
I spent eight days in Montreal and I had an amazing time. I loved the city and the location of Patricia's apt could not be better!
Patricia was a great host. This was my first experience with airbnb and I would definitely recommend it.
Patricia was a kind and thoughtful host! My girlfriend and I had a comfortable stay, and we were very close to all of the action in Montreal.
Some reviewers may comment that it can be noisy at night, but, well, her apartment faces one of the most vibrant streets in the entire city! If it's too noisy, you're just not out having fun as you should be.
It was fine. This is in a great location (excellent off street parking between Rue Marie-Anne and Avenue Mont-Royal off Rue Drolet). It was warm in Montreal this weekend; Patricia thoughtfully already had the air conditioner in the room running, so it was very comfortable. I only used the bedroom and bath, so I had no experience with the kitchen, which looked pretty small. The only small things I'd quibble about:
• the air conditioner was really loud
• the front door doesn't lock except with your key, which isn't a problem except maybe on checkout; we had a little schedule miscue when I got back and needed to get on the road but Patricia wasn't there.
She's very laid-back. Because of traffic, I was late getting in to Montreal. and she was really accommodating and gracious. Recommended.
Patricia is a lovely host, who was friendly, attentive and full of great suggestions and advice. Her place is in a ridiculously convenient location, right next to the metro, tonnes of great places to eat, shop, play. I would recommend her to all! Her cat, Freddy, was such a sweetheart, and the apartment was incredibly clean, homely, and comfortable. A great stay!
I had a very comfortable stay at Patricia's apartment. Patricia is a great host and was very accommodating to my schedule!
It was my first time in Montreal and as a traveller it was suggested to me that I stayed in Mont Royal and they weren't wrong! Patricia lives right in the heart of all of the restaurants, bars and cafes, along with all of the wee boutique shops and book stores. Also Mont Royal and parks are only short walk away, with the metro station just round the corner.
I would recommend the place for the location and also for the comfortable living area that you would stumble back to after a late night out. If there was any criticism, it would only be the traffic noise, but then again you are on a very exciting street.
There's also Freddie the cat who's pretty rad.
Was a pleasure to meet you and your friends. We would be more than happy to welcome you back anytime!
We were pleased to host Patricia and welcome her back in ou B&B when visisting Québec city area.
