I am a dance anthropologist and writer, previously working as a freelance travel writer for 10 years. I started Polynesian dancing when I was 2 years old and am the author of Dancing Through History: In Search of the Stories that Define Canada.
As a guest: When I am in your apartment/flat, I like to cook simple meals, read, stretch, and catch up on emails. I live minimally, travel simply, and pack light. I am also eager to recycle and compost, if that is available.
As a host in Vancouver: I was born and raised in a suburb of Vancouver and have been living in the city for over 14 years. I love this place. Although I travel for a living, I am always excited to return home: the ocean, the mountains, the clean air! I'm quiet, neat, laid back and friendly. My place is clean, flooded by natural light, and in the centre of the downtown core.
A fun note: I'm interested in languages and am currently learning Cantonese (my family speaks it but I never learned growing up). I speak French fairly well and am also (slowly) learning Spanish.
