You get for what you pay. The room was very nice and clean and the location is perfect. I was in town for one day and was close to everything you name it the colosseum, the rail, shops etc... Alessandro was very helpful and answered all my questions prior to arrival. Thank you!
Alessandro was very kind and helpful despite of our brief meet. The accomodation was not the same as pictured. It was located 5 minutes walk from the address in the itinerary but still centrally. The good thing about it was private bathroom, the bad things are moisture, darkness and blocked windows that couldnt be opened. All other things were ok. I'd recommend it for a very short stay (1-2 days).
Be also informed of 3,5 euro fee per person (probably per night) that you will be charged upon arrival.
The place is within walking distance from the Metro station which makes things a lot easier, and we managed to find his place quite easily. Also, we walked to Colosseum and Palatine Hill, really everywhere is within walking distance. The room we got was quite clean and nice.
The place was Very comfortable and well placed in the city! The attention was really good nice place to stay
The reservation was canceled 7 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Alessandro was a very friendly host, but unfortunately we ran into a few issues when we stayed there.
We arrived and were so excited to walk into an outdoor courtyard in the building, then through an iron gate and up to the apartment. That's when we found out that one of the two bathrooms was out of order, and so Alessandro took us to another of his locations to stay called Elevenstar. This would have been fine because the interior was much more updated, but there was no wi-fi, which we really needed during our stay. We ended up requesting to come back to Elevenrome despite the single bathroom for all the guests, and spent the remainder of our time there.
The room was very basic, but that was to be expected for the price. We loved having the large bay window in our room and the view onto the street. It was very loud with the window open, but it blocked out almost all of the noise when it was closed, so we slept well. The breakfast was a croissant in a plastic bag and some coffee (or a juice box if you wanted your breakfast before 9:00). The croissants do not look very appetizing, but turned out to be surprisingly delicious!
Alessandro did manage to have the bathroom fixed for our second night, but it broke again within about an hour and remained broken for the rest of our stay. The only time it really mattered was when we slept through our alarm and almost missed our Vatican City Museum tour because we had to wait so long to get into the bathroom to get ready!
We had planned on leaving our bags at the reception area after we checked out from the B&B because we had several hours before our flight. Alessandro said we were not able to keep our bags there because someone was coming to fix the bathroom. He did tell us that we were able to keep them at Termini Station for 4 euros for the day. What he didn't tell us was that was the price for one bag for 5 hours, not the entire day. We had two bags each, and it ended up costing us just under 30 euros just to store our bags there.
On the positive side, the apartment is in a great location, and is within a 5 minute walk to many tourist sights - the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, Capitoline Hill, etc. The metro and bus are also within a 5 minute walk.
Allessandro - the host - is very helpful. The place we stay was ElevenStar, his second location, not far from ElevenRome.
It was OK. Clean and quiet.
Two bathrooms is shared for 4 or 5 rooms, so be prepared for it.
Thaks for staying.
