A perfect stay in a perfect apartment. (See my review of last year.)
This apartment was perfect for our stay. Great location, bright & sunny with all you need for the basics. We will definitely stay here again for our next trip.
Very nice stay, just as advertised. Great communication, excellent value. Practical place, clean, safe.
BEST DEAL IN PARIS!
Easy, inexpensive, no frills, convenient and a helpful host. Train from CDG to Gare du Nord (45min under 10.00) 10 min walk from train to apt or short taxi ride (5.00) Apt is simple, safe, quite and clean with an amazing view on the back side of a peaceful garden (hard to find).
If you are particular about pillows and or towels, you should bring what you prefer. Bed is comfortable and the kitchen has enough in order to make simple at home meals.
I recommend for the single traveler or a very intimate couple ; ) It worked for me and I was happy with my stay, the price and the location.
The studio apartment was lovely -- in a nice building and near train stations. I would recommend it! It's a great value, and comfortable.
Just a couple of issues: the wifi was quite slow, so if you really need a good connection, this probably isn't the place for you. Also, the water heater is quite small -- we ran out of hot water a couple times.
Otherwise, a very pleasant stay!
Getting to the apartment was easy since we printed out (website hidden) maps, but we arrived at the Gare du Nord train station and if you are travelling alone or arriving at night, I personally wouldn't walk from the station. I would suggest paying the 1.20 Euro ticket and metro over to Chateau Landon. From there, it was a very safe short few minutes walk. We weren't able to meet Anne-Marie and were let into the apartment by the building's caretaker, whom doesn't speak very much English. The apartment was clean but the first impression suffered due to the apartment being a bit older. As others have mentioned, the hot water heater can run out. When we showered the first night we arrived, we didn't have enough hot water to have a warm shower. Good thing the rest of the nights were fine. The shower door also has a gap in the back corner so be careful when showering. Water finds its way out all the time and we found it odd that there was no floor mat left for the guests to use. There also was not a single garbage can in the apartment so keep your plastic bags. Others have written about the great bakeries on the end of the block and there are actually even better bakeries if you walk about 10 minutes along Quai de Valmy. Loaded with great restaurants and cute stores. Just search trip advisor. We recommend downloading the tripadvisor cities app that doesn't require internet because the wifi was terrible. You can't get reception if you go further than the futon. The mexican restaurant nearby was indeed delicious as others have said. Laundromat across the street was useful. On Sunday, the roads along the canal are closed to cars so it was beautiful to stroll and just down the block from the apartment Cafe Tolo had the most amazing Sunday brunch. Another thing to note, we were requested to clean the apartment before we left since there was no cleaning fee charged.
My girlfriend and I stayed for 6 nights at this apartment in May 2012. Everything was perfect and as advertised. The apartment is situated just 2 minutes by foot from the closest metro station.
The apartment is great, very secure and in a great Paris area next the Channel Saint Martin. Lots of metros around, good restaurants. You have to go through main gate (need code), through entrance (need key) and elevator (need code), which made it very, very secure. I really enjoyed my time in this apartment and would recommend it for anyone willing to have a great time in the most beautiful city in the world.
I forgot to ask for my 50 euro deposit when I left and the host was kind enough to send my friend a check, tres cool!! :-)
Anne-Marie was a great host, great with emails. Apartment is very clean, just as pictured in the profile. It is very close few Metro stations but I felt safest at Chateau-Landon stop which is literally a block or two away from the apartment. Would totally recommend this apartment!
Great location. Very spacious. Safe building.
