Hi my name is Günter and my family and I love the villa Hanuman. Our favourite destination is Koh Mak, Trad in Thailand and that's the reason why we have a villa there. Try visiting there and you will love it too.

The house was great, nicely decorated with all necessary amenities (except for soap). For us it was perfectly located in the middle of the island, so we could go to one beach in the morning and another in the afternoon as well as find restaurants easily. The host was very attentive prior to the visit, but possibly the best thing about the house were its care takers Bai and Oi who really went out of their way to make sure everything was ok. They are very dedicated to ensuring Koh Mak island has clean beaches and sustainable tourism and are working on several projects to that end.
Oi and ball the house managers were some of the best people I have met, they were so kind and enjoyable to be around. The house was nice. Location Is great if you feel like exploring the island (which can be seen on scooter from one end to the other in 30 min). The house is about 10 minutes walking from the best beach on the island, and about 2 minutes via scooter. Over all it was a good experience for the price.
Günter was very helpful with answering all questions about the house before we started our journey. Ball and Oi manage the house - they were extremely supportive, and it has been a pleasure to meet them.
We stayed in Hanuman house for 8 days all in all. For 4 days we had a "family reunion" there, with our son, our daughter-in-law and our 2 little grandsons.
Especially for this coming- together we had been searching for a comfortable and spacious house (which the Hanuman is! The master bedroom is a delight).
What made us book Hanuman house, was mainly the description "pretty safe for kids". Unfortunately, it is "pretty dangerous" (and not only for kids) when it rains, as the rain gets into the kitchen also when you close the roller- blinds, and turns the floor into an extremely slippy place. So, NOT to be recommended in the rainy season...
First and foremost, our group had lots of confusion and changes throughout out reservation process and Guenter was so unbelievable accommodating and gracious about it. He truly went above and beyond.
In addition, this is a wonderfully beautiful family home, close to beaches and in a little compound of other private homes. There was no one around while are group was there so it was extra private. Also, despite it being the rainy season and rainy in Trat we had a full week of perfect weather. The rooms were clean open and pretty separate (each had its own ensuite bathroom) which allowed privacy, as we had some couples, but also friendly open communal spaces. Also, just a note, in the kitchen there is no oven, so baking isn't an option.
The caretakers were so helpful in renting motos (cheapest price on the island) and arranging tickets for our large group(including two who didnt even stay at the house). I cannot say enough about how wonderful this place was and can't wait until we can go back.
Gunter was a brilliant host with fantastic communication and organized things wonderfully for us.
The house is AMAZING...seriously takes you completely out of your usual workaday life and reminds you that you are on holiday every morning that you wake up to the fantastic sounds of nature.
Cannot praise this house enough.
We've stayed with 10 people, (6 grown ups and 4 children) in this place and it was great! The house is nicely divided in three living areas which gave every family some privacy. Taking a shower was nice, hot water with good pressure, kitchen was fully equipped, house perfectly managed by a kind staff.
It was more of an accident that we went to Koh Mak since Koh Chang was fully booked, but we're very happy with this choice. Koh Mak is a much nicer Island for families and children compared to the Party, busy, rush rush Island Koh Chang.
The House was ideally located in the middle of two bays, both stunning beaches with palm trees overhanging the clear blue sea.
Each beach was in a 15 minute walk from the house, so you could choose which beach suited the best depending on the wind.
We rented two motorbikes for only 10 euros p/day, each morning we could get fresh bread, fruit and eggs by the nearby Supermarkets and enjoy a good breakfast.
The evenings we walked to nearby restaurants and enjoyed good Thai food afterward relaxed and had a nightcap on the main terrace.
Don't forget to rent the Electric Golf Car at SkyBeach resort, it's a great way to explore the Island with your children, you can go round the Island in a bout two hours time.
It was a great time, we'd love to go back!
We stayed for a full week here and really enjoyed it. It is just as advertized. The house is fitted out nicely and very comfortable. We spent a lot of time in the little outdoor area amongst the trees and birds. Being August it was nice and quiet - there was basically no around in the neighbouring places. Everything works well. A helpful agent is closeby in case you have any problems or need any information. This place is highly recommended!
This is truly an idyllic spot! We spent almost three weeks at this very special place. We had been travelling for over three months and wanted a place to settle in and relax. Both the island and the villa fit our needs perfectly.
Koh Mak is a peaceful, beautiful island. The villa is extremely spacious, well-appointed, and has a great 'feel' to it. It is very warm and welcoming. Set in a lush, garden setting, the villa is in a residential area with only a handful of neighbours - far enough way that you have privacy, but close enough that you don't feel completely isolated. The space is large enough for several people, each sleeping area having its own full bathroom. We were only two but we quite enjoyed having some extra space. One of the rooms is ideal for yoga and meditation. The outdoor spaces are wonderful. (We spent almost all of our time on the outdoor patios). And the eclectic movie collection was perfect for rainy days and late nights.
We wanted a place where we could cook some of our own meals. We rather enjoyed the adventure of cooking in an outdoor kitchen. We had everything we needed to prepare full meals and were often joined by inquisitive geckos and tree frogs (if you aren't an animal person, not to worry - they are curious but have no desire to get close and personal with you.)
The villa is perfectly situated as well. We were within walking distance of a mini market, a couple of restaurants, a few resorts (one of which was very accommodating about us using their pool) and massage services.
Communication and support were outstanding. Gunter was extremely responsive and provided detailed information right from the beginning. He also provides onsite property management support which is very helpful. It was such a pleasure to deal with Mrs. Oi and Mr. Ball. Oi pre-booked spaces for us on the speedboat, picked us up at the dock, and even accompanied us on a tour of the island. Later, both Oi and Ball helped us to sort out visa extension issues. Another pleasant surprise was that excellent housekeeping services are provided every four days.
The Koh Mak villa is a perfect example of why we love the airbnb experience. Very highly recommended!
