Muriel is very welcoming. The perfect hostess. Her house is a lovely half hour walk to the old town, suitable for those who like to walk, as it is a steep walk home. There is of course a bus, and Muriel offered to pick us up from town in the evening if we needed it. Her breakfast is worth the fee alone.
The room is small as is her fee, and the house is well situated over the valley. We would certainly go back if and when we return to Rouen.
Home made bread and jams. A good command of several languages. I can't sing her praises enough.
This is not five star accommodation, just really welcoming b&b.
Muriel was the perfect host. Full of information about the local area and directed us to the perfect restaurant.
Breakfast was excellent with home made bread and jams, as much as you could eat and we liked the Apricot jam.
Muriel was a wonderful host, and provided an excellent breakfast! Despite our being late due to eurotunnel cancellations and thunderstorms, Muriel was extremely accommodating.
Nous avons apprécié le gentil accueil de Muriel et sa confiance en (website hidden) maison est jolie et la vue sur Rouen est magnifique. Petits déjeuners gourmands et servis avec beaucoup d'attention.
Our host was very friendly and accommodating. Muriel was good enough to organise a place for us to eat in the town centre called petit dejeuner, it was 3 courses for 20 euros. Our breakfast was delicious with homemade bread and jams.
Our stay with Muriel was great although we did have a bit of a problem in finding the property. So, once there, it was absolutely fine. The bed was comfortable and the ensuite bathroom wonderful. It was very clean and attractive throughout. Muriel provided us with a lot of information as to the attractions of Rouen such as where to eat, which buses to get etc which was very useful. She provided a lovely breakfast which we enjoyed in the company of another guest couple and she kept us company to answer our questions and give us some background. She is very friendly and a lovely hostess.
Muriel’s house commands a fine view located in the hill. Coming back on foot might be a something but she was kind enough to pick us up in the city center almost midnight after we enjoyed the illumination of the cathedral. She also told us a very reasonable restaurant in the city center and it was a big hit.
Muriel is a very nice person. We, my father and I, had some nice chats and everything we needed was provided. As known from the other reviews is was not so easy to find with my GPS but once we arrived we had a great experience. Outside breakfast with delicious home made bread & 'confiture', good coffee and with the view as promised. A nice bedroom and a bathroom for ourselves.
We arrived early on a Saturday evening having tried to negotiate the crazy road system that is Rouen. Having got lost; Muriel was kind enough to come and rescue us. Her place is high up in the hills and is a really relaxing retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. She was an excellent host and could not do more to make us feel welcome after a long day. Her place is large and airy with lovely views over the city and her terrace surrounded by bamboos is the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine.
We were up early on the Sunday but Muriel was again there with a lovely breakfast of fresh bread and homemade jams so we could fill ourselves for the day ahead.
At just over 70 Euros for three people on a Saturday night in June; her place represents great value for money (seeing as my parents took one double room and I took the single).
Please beware Rouen is very hilly, so it might be advisable to get a taxi back as it is a steep climb back to the house.
Fully recommend otherwise.
Staying at Muriel's place was a pleasure! She is warm, respectful, and interesting, and her breakfast - with many choices, including homemade bread - started my day well! In addition, the house is truly special Its bamboo and green, hilltop view give you the impression of being in the countryside, and it's spacious, clean, and quiet. Highly recommended!
We met a nice person, who has passed on her passion for his family and his work, even if she stayed here just one day. We recommend her as guest.
Erano tranquilli e simpatici
Muriel et sa copine Laurence sont très polies, très éduquées et en même temps très sympatiques et ouvertes. C'était un plaisir partager la maison avec elles et nous ont laissé un très beau souvenir. Je peux recommander Muriel sans fautes.
