We received a warm greeting from our hosts. They have a beautiful villa with an amazing view. We stayed on the 3rd floor in room 6 (it had a balcony that overlooked Positano). There was also a nice breakfast each morning. You can tell our hosts love what they do and are there to help you with anything you'd like to see/do there. The villa is about 1 minute away from the path of the gods which I'd highly recommend hiking. One thing to note is that the WiFi isn't available in the rooms. Also to get to Nocelle you need to take a local bus after the sita bus. For us the location was perfect as we came more for the hiking than for positano. Both restaurants in nocelle are great quality and value with excellent service. The family that runs the pizzeria/mini market is so sweet and welcoming.
Postiano was simply beautiful. Carmela and her husband were very kind and welcoming. The walk from where you park to the bnb was further then I expected about 200m. We didn't have a phone to call and let them know we were there which is important cause they don't live in the bnb, but luckily there were people passing by how let us use there phone.
The room was clean and had a decent bed and shower. The bus system is great and runs late. Lots to do and see.
I would definitely recommend this place if staying in postiano is to expensive.
The most astounding views from our balcony made this one of the most popular places during our trip to Italy. Looking down on Positano from where we were was amazing! Walking the 'Path of the Gods' was great, also and it started just outside our villa. Wonderful.
I spent 3 nights at La Villa La Quercia in October. This is an actual Bed and Breakfast and not an "Airbnb", so you'll get the service of a hotel. The place is located in Nocelle, in the hills of Positano. I went by car and the drive was quite "fun" (very narrow roads, but worth the experience, and you progressively become good at it!). The place itself is a few minutes away from the road, don't get a heavy suitcase!
Regarding the room, the bed and pillows were quite hard but Carmela changed the pillow which helped. I was waken up by the smell of a smoke every morning around 6am but I haven't been able to identify where it came from, not great to relax.
So while you get an amazing view of Positano, there are some downsides to it: far from the town (30-40 minutes walk down the 2,000 stairs, which is good for exercise but not great to go out at night), not so comfy room and lots of mosquitoes.
I guess Carmela can solve most of these issues pretty easily, but that was my experience…
Carmela and her husband were very friendly hosts. Their B&B is clean, comfortable with amazing views of the sea. The only negative is that you have a steep and long bus ride to Positano. I parked my rental car on the hillside for 5 days and was amazed no one sideswiped the car.
Carmella and her husband were lovely hosts. The rooms, terrace and view (breathtaking) are as pictured.
We enjoyed the 1700-step walk down to Positano, and the little bus between Positano and Nocelle. Pizza in the restaurant in the cave was excellent!
Would happily stay here again.
This bed and breakfast was amazing! The breakfasts were excellent with many options. The rooms were spacious and the view was unbelievable. If you dont like a bunch of tourists and want a quieter place to relax but still close enough to the action this place is perfect. I will warn you the bus rides from sorrento and to the bnb are kinda scary but as you continue to use them you get use to them. Very clean and comfortable place to stay! Would most definitely stay here again!!
Villa la Quercia and the little town of Nocelle where the bnb is located is a little slice of heaven. My partner and I stayed there for 3 nights after having 2 nights down in Positano. It is about a 25 min bus ride from Positano and easy enough to do on the local bus. Just make sure you don't have heavy bags which is a mistake we made, as there is quite a few steps both in Positano and Nocelle. Having stayed in Positano for the 2 nights if was so nice to escape up to Nocelle and just totally relax. It is so quiet and private you feel like it is your own private sanctuary. Carmela and her husband are terrific hosts, the breakfast they serve every morning has the best croissants I have eaten. The views are absolutely incredible and have to be seen to be believed, even more incredible than the photos portray. Sitting on the balcony drinking wine at sunset was one of my favourite things I did the whole trip. There are 2 restaurants in Nocelle that you can eat at and I definitely recommend the little pizzeria, not just for the food but also for the view as well. If your travelling to Positano and are looking for something a little different then just staying in town the whole time, I definitely recommend Villa la Querica and would more than happily stay there again.
Carmela was a fantastic host and her B&B is a dream location. High in the cliffs overlooking the town, you just do not want to leave. The room is large, a great private bathroom, and a deck with one of the greatest views we have ever experienced. They served us the best cappuccino we have had in our life ! Wow and wow ! Thank you Carmela!
Villa la Quercia located in the small village of Nocelle, about 400m high, looking over Positano is a wonderful place to stay. Carmela and her husband are friendly, helpful and welcoming. The view from the balconies is outstanding and will leave a lasting impression. Getting to and from the village takes a bit of effort, either via hourly bus followed by a few steps, or you take the steps all the way to/from Positano. It's about 1500 steps, 20+ minutes down (which will hurt the next day) or about 40+ minutes up (more short term effort, but less painful in the long term), plus a 10+ minute straight walk to the center of Positano.
But it's all worth it, and both me and my wife already miss it!
There are two good restaurants close by, one with a small mini-market which also offers take-away.
