From northern California in the US, but have traveled and lived abroad in England and Africa since 2001 before returning to do my PhD in geography. I am easy going, like eclectic music, bicycling, cooking, exploring cities, surfing, and reading.

Aaron is a nice guy.
Aaron is an old friend from grad school. He's stayed at my place and me at his many times over the years. A great guy; very friendly and considerate.
Aaron is one of my favorite people to hang out with in different corners of the world (really just Angola and Portugal). He's fun, kind, laid back, and an all around great guy!! We met in Luanda back in 2008, and more recently hung out earlier this year in Lisbon (May 2012). Good times! :)
Ah, what can I say about my nephew, Aaron? Intelligent ... yes. Adventurous ... yes. Considerate ... yes. Worldly ... without question. But what Aaron has, and which I envy somewhat, is a gutsiness to tackle problems that most of us would rather just wish away— like how American corporations threaten sustainable farming in Africa. With so much depth and insight about what really goes on in Africa, especially in Angola, which he has studied up close and personal, Aaron will surely fill the night's conversation with intrigue and surprise. And when the political conversation is through, he also has a huge selection of worldly music on his MP3 playing that I'm sure he would love to share.
Aaron and I became friends while we were students at UC Berkeley. He is one of those great people who is reliable, consistent, and always friendly. Aaron is also very practical and thoughtful in his interactions and collaboration and would be a fantastic, easy-going guest or host. Though we both graduated years ago, Aaron is always one of those people you're happy to run into and catch up with, especially because he's always doing such interesting things in the world.
Aaron and I met in Angola, where we were both doing research for our respective PhDs. Aaron is a great guy, flexible, uncomplicated, and very knowledgeable on a whole range of issues and subjects, which makes for a fantastic host and guest and always interesting conversations.
We stayed at Aaron's in Malange for a weekend in August 2011, for example, and a great trip back to Luanda together, so by all means have him stay over at your place!
