Thank you for the kind words Eli and I am happy you both enjoyed the hot tub and the neighborhood. We have had two other guests tell us about noisy stairs in our 4-unit apartment house, and actions are currently being taken to deal with that issue (light walking and no shoes on the stairs makes a world of difference). That said the walls are all insulated and double sheetrocked with airspace to minimize sound transmission, so I would beg to differ that the cause is a design flaw; however I will still work to do more.
Concerning the photos, I am honestly at a loss. There are over 60 photos of my apartment on the site from literally every angle, taken both by me and a professional airbnb photographer. It has never before been suggested to me that our photos are misleading in any way, in fact, many guests have remarked how the apartment looked exactly like the photos. Still, I take all constructive criticism to heart and I understand that the experience of different guests can vary widely, as expectations and perceptions differ among different people. I am adding a floor plan drawing to the airbnb photo set to ensure that no guest ever feels this way again.
Concerning age, I'm not sure it should have anything to do with enjoying the overall experience, we've entertained happy guests from all walks of life and age ranges, and I do not consider the house or apartment to be only suitable any particular age group.
Price: I also wish we could charge less! Our hefty SF mortgage (driven by the fact that so many people agree that this is a wonderful place to live) unfortunately drives up our costs, and those get passed on to guests. I still believe we are more than competitive with local hotels and that we're providing value in a City that is becoming more and more stressed with the escalating income divide here.Still, there are options in the City that cost less (and of course more :)
