We were really happy with our long weekend stay at Luciana's. The house is really charming with traditional interior design and was perfect for our 4 people group. The location is in the center of Chianti Classico, the most beautiful part of Tuscany. You'll be able to taste some of the best Italian wine, enjoy the subtitle local food and wander on the beautiful "strade bianche" to discover this breathtaking area. We already look forward coming back next year!
Our hosts were very welcoming and kind. We booked at the last minute and arrived late the next day, but they accommodated us. The apartment comprises the entire ground floor of the two-story house, plus part of the upstairs, and includes 4 bedrooms (2 up and 2 down), 3 baths (all downstairs), 2 sitting areas, and multiple outdoor options. Appears to be rented only occasionally so had warm fridge and a few hiccups (hot water and wifi) to work out in the first couple of days of our 5-day stay. This was unfortunate as we wanted to be enjoying our short vacation, not dealing with issues. House was very cool in late June despite hot days. Long drive up steep, uneven gravel drive was unexpected, but our rental car handled it fine. Pool was sparkling clean and huge, and a short walk from the back door. Furniture and grounds show wear, so set your expectations. We were two couples and enjoyed the ability to spread out. House is the real-deal, beautiful ceilings, old stone and authentic, oozing character. Very quiet, remote location. Nearby Gaoile is a short drive (not realistic to walk given the steep gravel drive) for a couple of shops and restaurants. One place for groceries and closes at 7:30 PM. Don't miss a visit to Badia a Coltibuono winery and Il Celliere a Castagnoli restaurant. Overall, I would recommend this apartment!
very nice and polite guest
