We spent a week at Alma and Dimitar between 27 December and 3 January. We loved the welcome accorded to us despite the very late hour of our arrival. Our hosts were very caring for us and we spent the evening of New Year's Day to talk about our respective lives and our country. After the diner, we went to Jlubjana with Alma who made us discover the city with the fireworks and music everywhere! It was amazing!
Radovjlca is a charming small town in a beautiful area, near a beautiful lake (Bled)s urrounded by mountains . Our apartment was warm, clean and very comfortable. A thousand thank you for this quiet time and your availability. See you soon in France!
Bruno, Thomas and Wifi
This is the perfect base to explore the Julian Alps!
The apartment is very spacious and clean. Alma and her family are kind and welcoming. Situated on a farm, 10 minutes walk to Radovljica center, this is a great setting and the view from the balcony at sunset is amazing.
Stay there, you won't regret it!
We were extremely happy with Alma's flat. It is very big compared with other flats we have had - about 100m2. It was located on the 3rd floor and has magnificent views of the Triglav mountains and surrounding rural area. Alma's mother greeted us on arrival and Alma saw us off on departure and they were very friendly and cooperative, not to mention the tasty apple juice made from apples on their farm.
It was in a relatively convenient location for sightseeing in the Bled area and is only a ten minute walk (up a steep incline) to the old city of Radlovjica.
The 2 bedrooms were extremely spacious and comfortable as was the lounge.
Overall we were very happy with our stay at Alma's flat and can highly recommend it to travelers. Thank you Alma.
Alma's apartment is very clean and spacious. Its easy to walk to the nearby town or drive/bus to area attfactions. Alma and her mother are very sweet people and we enjoyed meeting them. They have info on what to do, where to eat, grocery stores, etc which was very helpful. Many area hikes. We enjoyed the Vintar Gorge walk, rowing on Lake Bled, eating Lake Bled cream cake and exploring the Castle.
Almas place really sets the standard for this kind of rental experience. Everything you could want is supplied and it's all really well thought out. Every thing from the directions to the information of the area is spot on. Both Alma and her parents were charming and helpful and generous with their time. It doesn't hurt that it is in such a stunning location either. Fully recommend staying here.
My husband and me stayed at Alma's apartment in the beginning if September and despite the less than stellar weather it was fantastic.
Alma is a wonderful host - she answered all our questions even before we arrived and her driving instructions were much better than the GPS. When we arrived, Alma was at work, but her father welcomed us and explained everything. We also got the pleasure of meeting Alma's mother during the stay, who is also incredibly nice and kept giving us food gifts and a care package when we left for home. Everyone in the family speaks decent English, Alma's English is excellent. We also learned interesting things about modern and historic Slovenia.
The farm is located very nicely, 10 minutes walk from the old town of Radovljica with nice restaurants and historical sights. It is 10-15 minutes drive from Bled and also suitable for day trips to Ljubljana, Triglav national park and many more. It's calm, but well connected - though the last part is a bit off-road. The view is beyond stunning!! We spent most evenings (and some mornings) with a hot cup of tea watching the mountains and roaming animals.
The apartment is very clean, provides a fully stocked kitchen, a washing machine (didn't use), TV with DVD player (didn't use) and information material about touristically places in Slovenia. Alma provides a prepaid phone so you can reach her without roaming fees. We didn't need it because of our own phone plan, but it's a very thoughtful gesture and Alma was always available for our questions.
Alma gave us a tour of her farm and we could see the animals and hear about its history, she arranged riding lessons for us - thank you, Katia! - and let us stay longer than check out time without extra fee.
We can only recommend the place and will definitely return. Thank you Alma for hosting us!
Alma's flat is located in a very nice area and there are a lot of things to do - both in the local village and in the nearby mountains. The air is clean. You can buy very good quality food in the supermarkets at a very reasonable price.
The flat is really clean and has all conviences that you need. The host and her family are very friendly and you feel very welcome.
I most warmly recommend this home.
Alma was very helpful from the very start - answering our emails in timely manner, offering advice and then, when we came, by helping us to plan our hikes.
The apartment is spacious and has everything you need, including some toiletries and washing detergent. The kitchen is fully set up: we had everything we needed to prepare the meals. Alma was also very kind to leave us a nice welcome treat on the kitchen table and in the fridge.
The place is located in proximity to all the things we came for: the lakes, the mountains, the capital. We couldn't wish for a more strategically located house to stay at. Thank you, Alma - we will definitely be back. You promised us a good weather, remember? :-)
The 2 bedroomed apartment was spacious and clean. We had access to the internet and a wide screen TV in the lounge. The apartment was well equipped with washing machine and all cooking appliances and utilities. The host left a welcome basket with delicious home-made biscuits, eggs, juice and milk. The views of Triglav from the balcony were spectacular and of the surrounding countryside. As we know Slovenia, it is a great location to use as a base, as there are great good restaurants, a swimming pool and supermarket locally within Radovljica. Also the location is close to Bled and within half an hour of Bohinj, Kranjska Gora and Ljubljana.
We had such a good time at Alma's place. It's really unique, with a view on the julian alps. We had a nice chat with Alma, when we arrived. She helped us with planning our trip next day. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal for hiking so we'll likely come back for another attempt and stay for longer than one night. :)
It was a great pleasure to have this two dear men as a guests. They are welcome any time again.
Alma is a kind, loving, considerate person with an affinity for cats and a tremendous knack for providing order, on or off a movie set. She is compassionate, astute and aims to please all guests under her attendance. Her home is nestled under the splendor of the Julian alps and is destined to leave a lasting impression on any who decide to explore Slovenia. If you are considering a vacation in the area, there is no better place to relax, listen to the distant sounds of Radovljica, drink a turkish coffee and watch the majesty of a setting sun. I highly recommend.
Alma's residence is like a place out of an English countryside 19th Century novel. The apartment is set back a ways from the main family house which is also a full functioning farm complete with horses, cattle, sheep, goats, bunnies, ducks, chicken, etc. So peaceful is her property, that you sink into a slower more relaxed place of life. This place would be perfect for writers, or families. There are pastures in every direction, Alps in the background and the Sava river a few meters away. Her listing is steps away from the train station and short bike ride or drive to Bled. Staying here, would be far more relaxing than a place in Bled and much quieter. Alma, and her whole family are very kind and interesting people. And, if you are lucky enough to sample her mother's cooking you will really be in for a treat. They were generous enough to bring us freshly laid eggs in the morning which is something I normally don't have access to living in a city. Book it!
