i am a mad reader of science fiction and must swim in natural sourced water often or i wilt. i love to dance, all kinds, from deep dub booty to contact improvisation to a hard core show to a good old fashioned modern technique class. i actual make dances. that's what i do. and i teach. travel. take huge chunks of my life to do direct environmental action. and huge chunks of time for art. painting. drawing with ink. making lights. and i wait tables.....lets me in on the heart beat of any town i am in. i believe in fierce compassion...as in having my ideals open to accept all people and ways...unless they are destructive and shifty. then i don't stand for that. i am generous of spirit, open and private at the same time. i live for the moment, and my connections with true folk, and the sea, and rivers and well, all ecosystems, really. i am part red neck with out racism or sexism or hate towards others who love folks with the same kind of genitalia as them. a strange mix of punk rock back to nature meets librarian. i stay up late, wake up early, sleep in way into the afternoon, go to bed after sunset. can sleep anywhere. i love to have fun. i can be too serious about the state of the world. i love to learn and listen and can tell a good story or just comfortably be in the room in silence with someone. waste drives me crazy. i am from the southeast of the usa so i want my guests to be comfortable and well taken care of. i can chat it up or give folks space, share a meal or be gone most of the time. i enjoy meeting new folks.
i don't need a lot of creature comforts. i am very very thankful for the ones i do have. i work fucking hard. and then i take breaks. become quiet. go party with friends, but never out of control. i like all music, but i am picky about beats...gotta feel it in my body. i read a lot of non fiction about native american politics and environmental (email hidden)t i find joy in small things, thank goodness. like a midnight stroll down the tracks. or a good breakfast with friends. or being on the colorado river in the grand canyon.
i am a loyal friend. love love my family. like drawing bunnies. feel violent towards dams. love punk rock music and long steamy baths. action films. mexico. beaches. berries of all kinds. and people who do what they say and say what they mean. cash on the barrel head, like my grand daddy told me.
i travel way low tech. hitch hike if i can. camp and crash and go to hostels. work on the way.usually i find a way to be near water.
