As a traveler in a new city I love being able to roam about on foot discovering the various areas, and when I tire, find a welcoming spot to sit and people watch. I enjoy the graffiti and ephemeral art I find on the street, more than what I usually find in a museum. I prefer visiting parks and gardens, rather than touring historical monuments. For a city view, I'd rather hike to the top of a hill, than ride an elevator to the top of building. I prefer cafes and small plates, to fancy restaurants and entrées.
When I'm not traveling, I work full time as a Research Administrator, or in my mind as a "herder of cats." In order to herd cats one must be organized, tenacious, and a bit of a worrywart, as contingency planning is often key. When I take off my kitty herding cap, I am a Master Gardner and provide a foster home for rescued dogs. My fur kids include two dogs and a two cats, though I am allergic to cats. My favorite way to let loose is to dance the night away with a drink in hand. I know it's been a good night when I head home looking like a sweaty freak.
