Great rental- clean, spacious, and walkable to shops and restaurants in McMinnville. Everything went smoothly and I would stay here again!
The house was great. We stayed with another couple and size was perfect. We also walked to dinner each night, so location was great. We had a minor Internet issue and Brielle took care of it immediately. We would definitely return.
What a wonderful house! We enjoyed the decorating and furnishings -- "funky cool" is how I'd describe it. (You have to see the towel warmer in the upstairs bathroom.) You can't beat the location: it's just a three-block walk to the beginning of the downtown restaurant-bar-store scene; if you have kids (or a dog), there's a park just a very short block away; and a large grocery store is only a few minutes drive. Even thought the house is just off a major road, there was no problem with noise. We would definitely stay here again.
We never actually met Brielle, but our communications via e-mail and text were excellent and quick.
She was extremely welcoming. She was quickly responsive to any questions, concerns, and proactive about some potential concerns. The neighborhood felt safe to walk my dog in and the downtown section was only two blocks away. Such a great leaping pad for wine country.
Brielle is a wonderful host and her home is both charming and comfortable. My sisters and I stayed here after a wedding. We loved the kitchen, vintage furniture, and the double walk in shower (very cool!) We wish to come back in the summer because they have an amazing backyard with decks, a fireplace and a koi pond.
We had a wonderful time at Brielle and Matt's home. We stayed a whole month while relocating to Portland, and spend the holidays in this charming little town. The house is perfectly located near downtown but is very quiet and peaceful. Brielle was the perfect host. She took every chance to make our stay comfortable, from preparing the house without much notice, to dropping flowers and blankets by, to checking in on our stay throughout the month.
The home is super charming and we comfortably slept 6. We gladly took a break from road trip food to cook in her well equipped kitchen. The bar was stocked, too, which came in handy after days spent house hunting (McMinnville is an easy hour's drive from Portland). I also fit a chair and desk in the bedroom for a mobile office.
Be sure to explore 3rd Street's restaurants and shops, especially 3rd Street Books and Community Plate for brunch (don't forget the fresh squeezed screwdrivers). Brielle is within walking distance from coffee, food, bars, really everything. The kids loved the community pool and park right across the street as well.
I gladly recommend Brielle's home! Thank you for a great stay.
The home worked perfectly for our Thanksgiving trip with our adult children, grandson and dog. The kitchen was well-equipped for preparing our holiday dinner. The home is cozy and comfortable. Everything worked as promised in the ad. We want to come back in the summer so we can enjoy the cute back yard. Brielle was very responsive and easy to work with.
We were very excited to stay there based on the photos and location. When we arrived it was even better than we expected. It was filled with vintage charm and all of the modern conveniences you need. It reminded us a lot of our home and was clean and comfortable. They had everything we needed to cook meals at the house. The location can't be beat if you're looking for something in town. It's very quiet for being so close to a busy street and in the heart of McMinnville. On our last night we realized there was a very nice community center with an indoor pool just across the street - great if you have kids. There is also a beautiful park less than a block away that we didn't get a chance to explore. This is only one reason to book our next stay. The fenced backyard was great for our dog.
The only negative some people may find is that there isn't cable. I loved it! I don't know why anyone would want to stay in and watch TV when you can explore McMinnville, discovery great wine, and play games or visit with friends or family in the open living room/dining room area.
We are definitely come back!
This was our 2nd trip to Maple and Thorn. The first time we had a large group and a dog. This time just 2 wine tasting couples and a dog. Both times the house was perfect! Brielle has everything in great order, plenty of towels, wine glasses, cooking utensils, bar-b-que, etc. We only hope we can think of more excuses to come and stay in McMinnville with Brielle.
Brielle's hospitality is top notch! My husband and I were in McMinnville for our anniversary, our hotel stay got mixed up and we ended up homeless for the night. I contacted Brielle through airbnb, told her our situation and she was very fast to respond and even waited at the house for us to find it. She and her husband gave us wonderful recommendations for places to go. We even met up with them after dinner a drink! The house is beautiful and the downstairs shower is what my dreams are made of! You would be crazy to not stay here :)
Brielle and her family were welcome guests. Communication ahead of the visit was pleasant, and they took reasonable care of our beloved cabin.
Brielle and her family were awesome! As far as guests go, they were easy to communicate with, clear about details, and left the room in great shape. As far as people go, they were fun to talk with and just a pleasure to host and be around. I look forward to crossing paths again :)
Brielle and her group were absolutely wonderful - they treated the home like their own, communicated very well and were a joy to host. They are very welcome to return any time.
Brielle and I have been good friends since college, and as a former roommate I can attest to the fact that she is easy to get along with and a delight to be in the company of! Brielle is easy-going with a great sense of humor. She's also a great hostess -- I have visited Brielle and her family at their wonderful home and had a great time in the charming town of McMinnville, thanks to their knowledge of where to go and what to do. If you're looking for a place where you'll be warmly welcomed and be able to relax in a beautiful historic house with a great atmosphere, this is it!
Brielle loves people, entertaining, and is clever with words and design. Even though I am her mother, I am regularly surprised by her wit and wisdom. She has recently convinced me that AirBnB is the way to go and we have even listed a room in our own house--with her help. She's responsible, friendly, and classy. Obviously, she was adopted!
