Bev was a great host who made us feel very welcome, giving us tips on her cottage and making sure we had all we needed. She respected our privacy while being caring and hospitable. Bev gave us some great pointers about the surrounding area. It was so lovely and peaceful at her place and the wee dog and the horses (plus the 2 Highland cows in the front property gave the place a real character of its own. We loved the proximity of the beach, the town and the river. Thanks Bev, you do a great job!
We loved our stay at Rapanui Cottage and wish we could have stayed longer. Bev and Andy were really welcoming and the cottage was beautiful. Our dog loved meeting their dog and horses and had a great time running around at the beach nearby.
Fabulous property in gorgeous rural location. Great views of gardens and horses and a very friendly dog whose visits we enjoyed. Cottage itself was spacious and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need, and breakfast supplies were great. Was sad that we couldn't stay longer. Great part of the world and well worth a visit.
The hosts at Rapanui Cottage, Bev and Andy, were quite welcoming to us. The “homey” cottage is set on their farm in an idyllic, private setting enclosed by some beautiful landscape, a sure sign of a thoughtful and knowledgeable caretakers. They have this amazing little garden surrounded by horses and sheep. We really appreciated their eco-friendly conscientious attitude towards conservation and protection of the environment.
Upon our arrival, we discovered a nice spread of fruit, chocolate treats and fresh cut flowers. They invited us to tea where Bev shared some homemade fruit bread and ANZAC biscuits, which we absolutely loved and hope to try the biscuit recipe she provided for us. Andy was very friendly and happy to show us his workshop and ingenious creations. He also shared some of their bounty by giving us some of their carrots and potatoes from their garden. They also went out of their way to introduce us to a dental therapist, so we could compare local practices with those in America. We highly recommend their cottage without reservations and will visit again when next in New Zealand.
Lovely place and great hosts! We enjoyed the privacy of the house which is laid out perfectly for a couple and were amazed by the openess and frendliness.
This is such a beautiful, peaceful an scenic place! We enjoyed the calm environment. The nice city of Wangarei is nearby. Wonderful scenic beach not far. We 'd loved to stay longer in this wonderful cosy wooden house.
