Great neighborhood--in the heart of the Marais with a Velib station across the street. However, the apartment is sub-par. It was lacking basics such as a spatula and wine glasses; there are only two (uncomfortable) chairs. The apartment's management company was unresponsive. The front door closes and locks but the deadbolt doesn't work, so the apartment wasn't terribly secure. If you stand up to take a shower in the tub, you have to be careful not to fall since the tub is small and curved and there's nothing to hold onto. I stayed for six weeks--this apartment may be more suited to very short rental periods, a few days at the most. I rent Paris apartments relatively frequently as a result of my work, and I wouldn't rent this one again.
Two of my friends and I stayed at Ghislain's apartment for just over a week. It was great. Despite arriving at 10pm Frederic (the man who organises the renting of the flat on Ghislain's behalf) was there to meet us and show us around. The flat itself is in the perfect location, surrounded by supermarkets, grocers, deli's, bakeries, cafes and bars. It's right near the metro which made our arrival and departure by plane very easy to organise. I'd highly recommend this place for anyone staying in Paris.
The flat was everything advertised and more. Right in the heart of the Marais, it was an amazing home base for my month-long stay. Ghislain was an attentive host. I couldn't have been happier here.
I spent a month studying in Paris with a friend at Ghislain's apartment and it was a wonderfull experience!
The apartament is very cozy, the Marais neighborhood its incredible and the location is excelent, near everything.
I already miss that place!
Ghislain and Frederic were very attentive, thank you for everything!
I spent a month during the summer in this fabulous little pied-a-terre. This was the perfect location to get to anywhere. Velib station is literally outside the main door. Metro stations are just around the corner.
Ghislain (email hidden), even offered to pay for the fan I ended up buying due to extreme heat this summer.
The only downside is the street below is very noisy if you keep the windows opened. During the day it is due to traffic. On week-end nights, due to party goers, until 5am sometimes, due to the proximity of 2 bars down the street.
Other than that, this (email hidden) to stay. It has all the amenities one could want even a washing machine!
Thanks again Ghislain!
I spent a month in Paris studying at the Sorbonne and wanted to live in the Marais to be near the Centre de Danse. Ghislain's apartment was in a perfect location for me so I booked it. When I arrived, I met Frederick who was representing Ghislain while I was there. Both Frederick and Ghislain couldn't have been nicer. They were both professional throughout my entire stay, very responsive when I needed help and overall very kind people. The apartment was perfect. It has everything one would need and more. It's spacious (for Paris) and it's charming with ceiling beams, red retro fridge and happy bathroom. I loved the washer/dryer in one. I had never seen that before and it was very practical. The kitchen had everything one would need including an espresso maker, dishes, utensils, etc. There was plenty of closet space. The bed was super comfortable (a concern because I have back problems.) The internet worked really well (eventually) but somehow I never got the TV to work. Didn't really matter as I was out all the time. A "Velib" community bike rack is also directly in front of his place so I could hop on a bike at any time. It's a 15 min walk from the Notre Dame and a 20 min ride from the Sorbonne so it's very central. A monop grocery store is just three buildings away. The apartment was truly wonderful and it was very difficult to leave. It was basically a dream trip and this place as well as Frederick and Ghislain's hosp itality had a lot to do with making that happen! I hope to be back soon! Merci!!!!!
