Philippe is an excellent host...great communication and truly wants you to have a fantastic time. The boat is very comfortable and the pilot house was our favorite around sunset. We loved the neighborhood with Rembrandt Sq a block away and the whole city easy to walk or bike. Thanks Philippe and hope to see you again this summer
Philippe was an amazing host. He had prepared and made it welcoming and nice. His home is very beautiful and stylish. We enjoyed the atmosphere and we were very happy with our trip. We strongly recommend Philippe as host.
Philippe was a great host. Always available, helpful and uncomplicated. He even went out and purchased an extra duvet when an extra
guest showed up. Fresh donuts & strawberries were waiting for us on arrival. Quite a welcome treat after our late flight. The location is fantastic. Easy access
from the airport; Quiet yet within minutes of restaurants, bars and shops.
We just returned from a 10-day stay on Philippe's boat. I cannot say enough about the location. It is perfect for anyone who wants to stay in the city centre but have the ambiance of a neighborhood. A very nice neighborhood! All the major attractions are within walking distance if you desire. The tram station is literally a 2-minute walk (maybe less) if you would rather get around by the public transportation.
Phillipe was a gracious host and very helpful. He checked in with us a few days before our arrival as well as met us at the boat when we arrived. He gave us the tour and made us feel at home. He also emailed during our stay just to see if we needed anything! The photos are accurate; the space is unique and offers a great alternative experience to a hotel. Having a washer/dryer onsite is a huge benefit for an extended stay as well. The radiant heat in the floor was amazing; the last couple of nights were chilly but turning the heat up a bit made the space cozy and warm.
The captain's wheelhouse is the perfect spot for morning coffee and evening wine! I think that would have to be my favorite room. I recommend this host and boat 100% for anyone looking for a unique experience in the heart of Amsterdam!
Our houseboat stay was fantastic. Philippe was very hospitable, he welcomed us to the boat, showed us around all the amenities and remained in communication during our stay. The Houseboat is exactly as advertised, very unique, fully equipped and an excellent location for seeing the entire city center. We rented bikes and 3 hours on an electric canal boat, and saw the entire city. We had a great time, and definitely will be back again.
Philippe was on the deck to welcome us. His boat is really easy to reach via public transportation. It is clean and well stocked. The bed was super comfortable, the shower hot. We enjoyed having a drink on the deck at sunset to watch the people float by. I highly recommend a stay here.
Very easy booking with Airbnb and Philippe. Philippe gave us some good tips about the neighborhood. The area was perfect for us. Peaceful, relaxed, trendy and easy to get to anywhere in and around the city. We have stayed in Amsterdam many times but this was the first time on a boat. It was really cool and will definitely be doing the same again next year. The boat was very clean and tidy and it was great to have the whole place to ourselves. Underfloor heating was brilliant, as was the view having breakfast up in the captains cabin. Philippe made us feel very welcome in his boat and we would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the city.
We had a great stay in Amsterdam. The houseboat was in a perfect location, so we could reach every part from the city by foot.
The houseboat was exactly as the discription said. All in all we had a very uncomplicated and comfortable stay. Unfortunately we had not personal contact with Philippe, but we had a short chat by phone. All i can say is thath Philippe is a very friendly guy. He did everything to ensure that we have a great stay.
I recommend Philippe as a host and his houseboat as a location to stay for everybody who wants to have a trip to Amsterdam. Thank you very much Philippe!
Philippe was away travelling for duration of our stay but was easy to communicate with and responded quickly to questions and was a pleasure to deal with. Houseboat is really well kitted out and very stylish and roomy. I hadn't been to Amsterdam for decades and forgot how mad the core is. Kaisersgeracht - the canal where Philippe is - is exactly as close to the core as you want to get. Very peaceful. Overall a really fantastic, unique way to experience Amsterdam and very good value for the amount of living space and - above all - the quality of the place.
We stayed in houseboat for three nights. The location is perfect. The experience was great. We had friends over to enjoy our space and view for cocktails and it was such an added experience rather than the typical hotel room! The boat does not rock or have any chance of making you feel seasick, as my sister was concerned about. The kitchen was a large space. And the amenities were great. The bed was comfortable. and the bed linens were nice. The washer dryer worked better then the one we had used in Rome, Venice, Sicily or France, but these European washer dryers take a looong time! The marqt (grocery store is a 2 block walk, and there is a great little bakery right on the corner. We walked to all the attractions from the boat. Nice Quiet street for sleeping. My only suggestions were add a a fan for living room and bedroom, which we asked about while there and Philippe said he would do that in future. Additionally get a few better towels. But all in all it was great!
Prima gast, heel stil en heel schoon!
Philippe and his friends were such great guests. The three lovely Dutch boys in my home was a perfect way to spend the weekend. They were tidy, respectful of the space and really rewarding to talk with. I would absolutely recommend them!
