Great views! The road was kind of washed out, so a high clearance vehicle is recommended. It's a great space to relax in.
Avi is a fantastic host, great communication and very helpful with local directions and suggestions. The cabin is stunning and fully equipped with everything one would need for a perfect getaway.
Would highly suggest traveling in a car, some what remote location - which is the beautiful part of it!
We will most definitely return for another stay, highly recommended!
We had such a lovely time at Avi's cabin! The cabin itself was comfy, cute, and fully stocked and we especially enjoyed the outdoors parts of the property, including the porch, fire pit, grill, and beautiful views. Even when there was rain and hail, we were still able to sit on the large porch and enjoy the view. Nearby excursions to the Mongaup Pond for hiking, the covered bridge, and eating lunch stream side at the Rolling River Cafe were also great. We also enjoyed the privacy, which made it feel like a true escape from Brooklyn. I would love to return again, and even bring more friends and rent the airstream.
Avi's house and surrounding property is awesome. We had everything we needed -- from amazing views/landscape to super comfortable beds -- and couldn't have asked for more! Rain or shine, I would highly recommend this place. We had a very small car, but still managed (with a lot of elbow grease) to make it up the steep gravel hill; it was a bit daunting at first, but we got the hang of it. It's an easy drive to Livingston Manor (great food) and surrounding forests and lakes. We are definitely planning a trip back. Thanks, Avi!!
This house is truly a lovely and remote little gem with a breathtaking view (and a wood burning stove!). I spent hours on the porch one morning, looking out on to the misty Catskills vista and watching the storm roll away.
There is definitely zero chance of getting up to the house with anything less than all wheel drive or thighs of steel and will of iron, so heed everyone's caution wisely--they ain't kidding.
We'll definitely be renting this cabin again this summer if Avi will have us! Thanks for being so communicative etc, all the best!
My wife and I recently spent the weekend here to celebrate our anniversary. It was a beautiful area that wasn't too far from the city - the perfect spot to get away and relax. The cabin was nice, had all the amenities, and was very comfortable. Loved the views!
It was a little tricky to get up the road leading to the cabin. Most people say that you need a 4 wheel drive (which would be handy). That being said, our Honda Accord didn't have any troubles at all.
The nearby town of Livingston Manor was quite nice, although sometimes it can be tricky to find places that are open from Monday-Thursday, which makes sense in a small town. We were able to find some good food around the area though. Make sure you check out the Catskill Brewery. They were really nice and accommodated for our dog as well.
Avi was cordial and made sure we had everything we needed. All in all, this was a nice place to get away and enjoy a relaxing weekend!
I've now been to this place twice, and it never disappoints! It's meticulously kept, has incredible views, a well-stocked kitchen, and all the privacy you could want. Avi is responsive, professional and helpful. I'll be back again and again, I'm sure!
Avi was very accessible and answered all our questions promptly via text and email. The location of the home was beautiful, with great outdoor space both on the deck and around the house. The view is amazing, particularly at sunrise. Our only complaints are that the dishwasher was broken, and that the firewood was damp. Since there was plenty of wood in the house we did not think to pick up supplies in town, but when it got quite chilly and we wanted to light a fire, no luck. There were portable electric heaters so we could stay warm, just not as cozy for a country getaway.
Avi was an excellent host. He was easy to contact and very responsive. The cabin was as described and very comfortable. We were there when the weather was unseasonably cold, i.e., it was snowing when we got there in the evening and it hit the 20's at night (and this is the end of April) so it did take a while for the place to warm up. I am glad we brought fleece sweaters and slippers.
The hill going up to the cabin is rough. You really should have an SUV for this although a skilled driver was able to make our Volvo climb the hill by going in reverse.
The view from the cabin is stunning. The area is fantastic. Try the Brandenberg Cafe for lunch and pastries, and Catskills Brewery for excellent and distinctive beers. They are both in Livingston Manor. We have been to the Rolling River Cafe in Parksville several times on different trips. It is always superb. Always.
the cabin was exactly as described, and Avi was very helpful. the view was very nice and there is a large deck, hammock and fire pit outside. I would recommend this to anyone and would happily stay here again. thanks Avi!
Will be happy to host Avi and his family again.
Avi and friends were excellent gests and would be welcome back at any time. Highly recomended
I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Avi's place is an easy hop from NYC yet feels worlds away. It has a great view of the Catskill Mtns, and though it's just a few minutes drive from highway 17, it feels totally isolated. I was up there with 6 buddies for a weekend, got up there Fri night, did a long day hike on Devil's Path on Saturday in the Catskills, and BBQd and swam in the very nearby very private lake on Sunday. The place was clean and comfortable, and Avi's laid back demeanor made everything run very smoothly. I highly recommend this place
