to live and let live
A lovely spacious and airy apartment, the huge bathtub is a holiday experience in itself. Ours was a last minute booking that was efficiently handled. The flat is location, location, location; its hard to muster up the energy to leave the immediate area. Go to the 'White Roll' across the road for yummy Asian fusion; Oderberger Street itself is a food and clothing haven. The lovely French windows lead to a roadside balcony keeping you connected to the Berlin pulse and its shockingly peaceful considering. Back to the bathroom, underfloor heating, a speaker by the shower and quirky soap, its those little touches too that make this a very special place to stay. Highly recommended.
Great space in a perfect location. What I loved best were the subtle touches that made the apartment homey: heated floors in the bathroom with rainshower head, large refrigerator and artfully done kitchen. dining room table made from a door that overlooks the living room windows, one of a kind artwork in the living room. The light streaming in the morning bathed the living room in a delightful glow that was just inspiring to wake up to. Nice having a desk for working space as well.
A few detractors (but not insurmountable) - living room couch is classic homemade affair with boxes supported by some cushions. Not the most comfortable but serviceable. The bed, while large, also is not the most comfortable I've slept on. But the space is gorgeous and it's nice to have a true double bed! Last, I desperately wanted use of the sound system but couldn't figure it out. Instructions next time please!
Ole was extremely responsive prior to booking and during my stay. Everything was setup to perfection and easy for coming and going. He even let me drop my stuff off earlier upon checkin - major kudos for the flexibility!
Overall, I couldn't help but fall further and further in love with the apartment over my stay. The restaurants on the street were perfect as well. It's a quiet oasis set in the center of all that's happening out East. Hard to go wrong in my book!
It was a last minute booking on a weekend and it worked perfectly, Ole replied really fast.
The localition is per-fect and the flat is a true Berliner! Warm, sunny and super quiet.
We spent relaxing time in Berlin and Ole's flat was perfect. It's lovely, well equiped, full of charm with a mix of vintage stuff (the soap in the bathroom bring us 25 years in the past !) and the aera is one of the best in Berlin.
Ole's place is great. Perfectly located at the edge of the Prenzlaurberg. Tons of great shops and restaurants on the streets, walking distance to Mitte, etc. Just a block from one of the biggest Sunday Markets in Berlin the Mauerpark Flohmarkt. The apartment itself is cozy with a nice little balcony overlooking the street. All the amenities you would expect form home are there, cooking supplies etc. We had some friends over for dinner and the dining table was more than ample for 5 of us. The bathroom has a large bathtub, rain shower and a heated bathroom floor! There is even a stereo with an auxiliary input for your laptop or iPhone. We felt right at home. Check-in was a breeze with Ole's neighbour living in the same building and meeting us out front. One thing to note is that the wi-fi connection is very weak and the signal often fades away then reconnects. Wasn't a huge issue for us but if you need to work while there or have stable internet access this could be a problem. We would definitely stay here again.
--- I really enjoyed staying at Ole's place for three weeks. The house is very quiet, the apartment bright, lovely and comfortable. I miss starting the day with an espresso on the balcony with a wonderful view of the cafes on Oderberger Street. The location was perfect for me. Ole is a wonderful, sweet host and replied immediately to all wishes and requests. I would love to stay at his apartment again when I'm back in Berlin.
Lovely appartment in a beautiful neighbourhood. Felt like home with all the comfort youd wish for, with a nice kitchen, a bath and a sunny balcony. We saw people photogaphing the house from outside. Appartment itself was clean, spacious, light and furnished with taste.
Not to miss, the sunday flohmarkt at mauerpark and the open air podium next to this market. Nice shops and cafés in the street and around the corner.
Havent met Ole, but the contact via mail was good ( reacted within couple of hours) and he was flexibel in arranging the check in.
We can really recommend it!
I really enjoyed this stay---the area is lovely and terrifically convenient, and the apartment has a lot of character, which was a bonus. Beautiful antique wood floors, slate shower, lots of cool DIY touches and craftsman action throughout. Flooded with sunshine, it has a little balcony for breakfasts outdoors. Wifi was strong enough for Netflix, your phone plugs into a good sound system for Spotify, check-in was smooth, etc.---the place is a great find in an ideal location.
Cosy comfortable apartment situated (email hidden)ly street with so many good places to eat and drink. Loved it! Sunday market at Mauerpark was a highlight and only 10 minutes walk. Very happy to have stayed in Ole's apartment.
Sehr schöne Wohnung, geniale Lage! Viele tolle Restaurants und Shops in der Nähe, tolle Bahn Anbindung! Super schneller und netter Kontakt mit Ole. Wir können es sehr empfehlen!
