I am a lighthearted, fun loving traveler/musician/craftsman. I also believe in "working vacations" so I usually have woodworking and electrical tools with me.
I believe what J.R.Tolkien said about travelers: "All who wander are not lost"
Ken reached out to us several times to make sure everything was ready for our visit. Once at the cabin, we found that our expectations were exceeded. If Ken had been able to transform rainy skies into sunny skies, the stay would have been perfect rather than excellent.
Ken is an artist at heart, it seems, and there were numerous creative touches both in the cabin and on the property that delighted us.
This was our first airbnb experience and Ken made it a 10. Well done, Ken. We look forward to a return visit at some point.
Cozy place in the forest, what an experience. Rustic place, self build cabin, great vacation place. Ken is flexible and a communicative host. We would stay here again!
Response from Ken:
Thanks Claudio. It was a pleasure meeting you. Hope the rest of you trip was great!
What a great cabin to retreat from"whatever". Ken's adaptive reuse of found objects is practical and ingenious. How about a wine rack from a rake or antler prongs as door pulls. It is equipped with all the necessities of "modern life" yet still feels rustic.
Highly recommended for a day or a week. We wished we had stayed much longer than 2 days.
Response from Ken:
And it was a pleasure meeting you! Wish we could have hung out for a week. But this "retirement thing is not all it's cracked up to be ---Places to Go! Things to Do!
Thanks for sharing a bit of time with me!
We had planned to spend a week in northern Idaho, 4 days with Ken at the cabin and 4 days at the Coeur d’ alene Resort. As nice as the resort was, we would rather have spent an extra 4 days at Ken’s cabin. We can’t say enough positive things about our stay. Ken is an excellent host, always available when needed, and an interesting conversationalist. The cabin is neat and clean and very comfortable. Ken’s fine woodworking talents make the cabin unique and special. The wild life, peace and quiet were a very pleasant escape from our busy lives. We plan to return for another stay. BTW, fishing at Antelope Lake was very good. Highly recommend Ken and his cabin. Our stay was memorable.
This is truly a Gem! With such relaxing creek sounds, (we took the short, easy trail to the creek every morning) and the unique, charming woodwork and rustic finishing touches inside and out, we felt like we were in heaven!
Ken is an engaging and helpful host who made sure we had everything we needed and went out of his way to find good hiking trails in the area for us avid hikers and swimmers.
Pictures do not do this magical place justice and we will definitely be back!
