I'm a professional translator, graduated in Journalism.
I love Brazilian culture, Rio de Janeiro's culture and I hope you you'll love it too.
I stayed in the apartment for 5 months. It was a nice and clean apartment, located in a favela. With that in mind, things were not always running perfectly, but Julia was always there to help me.
The apartment was well equipped and it was a simple food store just across the street. It is a small favela, so everyone knows each other. It became very noisy in the evening when all the people went outside for a chat, drinking beer and playing and in the weekend they could be out all night. But in the other hand, the morning was very nice and peaceful.
It is a 35-50 minutes bus ride down to Copacabana/Ipanema (and sometime you have to wait a while for the bus, especially in the evening), depending on the traffic, but on the other hand, it is closer and more buses to Lapa and downtown.
I have nothing to complain about the apartment itself, but i felt a little isolated there and the location could be better, but it was a interesting experience to live in a little favela.
A Júlia é uma ótima compania. Simpática, tranquila e bem humorada.
Julia is a nice funny girl who has a good sense of humor. Friendly and easygoing.
