Would love to have you. Thanks for your interest.
If you're visiting Yucca Valley you don't want to miss this richly modern getaway. We had such a wonderful time at Kim & Marian's Desert Artist Escape and are already looking forward to our next stay there.
The house was very nice and the views were fantastic. We were three guests, so the three couches out back were great to hang out on and appreciate the view. I would recommend this AirBnB listing to anyone going out to the Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree area
The home is very warm and inviting - loved the artistic décor and warm earth tones. We felt comfortable and welcome right away. Great views of the valley from the outdoor deck, comfy beds, and the fenced in yard and doggie door were perfect for our dog. Far enough away from main roads and other homes to feel like a real escape. We can't wait to come back!
This place is great. Clean living spaces, comfortable beds. Everything you'll need for cooking. Hosts are quick to respond and easy to work with. Access is via dirt road for approximate 100 yards, but was easily traversed in a Toyota Camry. The space feels secluded but is within a few minutes drive to all of the local shops and necessities. Joshua Tree National Park is about 15 minutes away. This place is perfect for climbing trips if you're not planning on camping at the site. Thanks again!
Kim and Marian's place is a beautiful desert oasis! The house is well appointed with comfortable beds, kitchen gadgets, a big bathtub, and lots more! The view is spectacular from their covered patio where we spent most evenings relaxing. We used the fire pit twice...firewood, matches, and newspaper were available for us to use to get the perfect roaring fire going. We slept with the windows open and one night were delighted to hear howling and yipping coyotes. One thing you must know is the metal roof does make noises at night as the temperature cools...the first night we arrived I was home alone as the others went to eat and I got quite the fright as it sounded like someone was on the roof. From that night on we jokingly attributed it to "Yucca Man". The decor is fabulous with a cool mid century vibe. Her place is perfectly located...a short drive to Joshua Tree one way and under an hour away from Palm Springs the other way. We loved every minute of our stay here and would love to come back some day!
We absolutely loved staying at Kim and Marian's place. It's the perfect set up for longer stays and the views are incredible. The patio was a magical place to work and the house was very cute and super functional/ comfortable. Sunset/ sunrise, both spectacular.
The home is lovely, clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. The patio is a great place to read a book and look at the view! It is close to town, but feels very private. Kitchen had everything we needed. Kim and Marian made check in & out easy.
Unfortunately, the weekend we were there, the Joshua Tree Retreat Center was having a 3 day outdoor concert and the thump of the music could be heard all day and night. It was far enough in the distance to not be too terrible, but a bit disappointing when seeking desert solitude. I recommend checking their calendar before you book if quiet is important to you.
Also, the house has a nice, open mid-century feel too it with some of the doors removed. If others are up before you, noise will travel into one of the bedrooms. Again, not a deal breaker for us, but if you are a light sleeper it may be an issue.
Over all we had a very nice weekend away. - Julie & Bob
Everything was easy and enjoyable! We arrived to find a very unique home, with lots of cool picture books, and everything we needed in the kitchen. The views from the back patio are spectacular. It was quiet, secluded, and completely relaxing. We honestly did not want to leave. We will book this place again. Kim and Marian were very accommodating with us bringing our dog Lucy and then were kind enough to e-mail us that there was no rush to leave on Sunday.
This was a really fine place for a desert getaway. Close to Joshua Tree and to Palm Springs. The house was well-equipped for cooking and the bedrooms were very comfortable. I found the decor inside attractive as was the comfortable patio outside. The view was outstanding both daytime and night-time. I highly recommend this place .
We had such an amazing experience at Kim & Marian's place. We were there for 4 nights and enjoyed everything it had to offer. The house itself is adorable. They have great taste! The kitchen is well-equipped and we really loved sitting outside for our meals. We enjoyed a fire outside while watching the beautiful desert sunset each night. The location is great for exploring Joshua Tree, Palm Springs, and other surrounding areas. We had so much fun! Thanks for having us!
Two lovely people, punctual and with generous tips.
I hope to have them again as guests.
Kim and Marian are the most thoughtful hosts! Even though I had the house to myself, their artistic presence, mid-century appointments, and further attentions to detail offered a most comfy, "taken care of" feel ever. This house gave me the best of all worlds - breathtaking sunrise and sunset views, desert quiet and serenity, and modern conveniences of everyday life (LOVE the shower!), and privacy. It is close to excellent art and food venues in the local area small towns and of course, the famous Joshua Tree National Park. Having used AirBnB many times throughout the United States, I'm so glad Kim and Marion are here. Now you and many other people have the opportunity to discover this precious, desert escape!
