I am an artist and a native Charlottean. I paint here most days in my studio and I blog about art and history at Charleston Through An Artist's Eye. I love to travel and meet new people, and some of the principles that work for me are 'Turn off the tv, Walk, Make Friends, and Give stuff away'. My beloved and well mannered Italian Greyhound is named Beau. This house, called 'Belle Rive', has been home since 1997 and I grew up in the nearby neighborhood of Charlotte called Eastover. The house has four bedrooms and two full baths in addition to my loft studio. Before I began to paint full-time I worked as a professional advertising photographer in Miami then returned to my home city to teach art and renovate old houses. The whole idea of the cooperative economy especially sharing this house makes so much sense to me, and it has worked for me for three years. In one of the other bedrooms, downstairs from this room, is another longer term guest, a fine gentleman who is here Mon-Thursday.
