Local nurse into health and wellness; there's a garden in the back most of the year. I like a serene, calm environment that promotes good healthy fun! Enjoy ocean activities, and I know little secret places that I'll share with you when you come. :)

Beautiful house! I had a wonderful time, there were many really nice folks that cycled through, all of them were delightful and fun to be around. I didn't rent a car, so be aware that it is a 1 hour 45 minute ride from the airport, and a similar length to get to Waikiki. That was fine with me, I enjoyed watching Hawaii pass by me as I was on the bus, but it may not be everyone's cup of tea.
This is the perfect rental. It was clean, neat, well kept up, and well stocked. We really enjoyed staying here, from the moment the Loretta greeted us and walked us through the basic rules of the house until our farewell 3 days later.
Laretta makes you feel comfortable renting from her. She introduced us to the other renters right away.
The yard is well kept with fruit bushes and trees that produce fruit that are a treat to eat at their peak of ripeness.
Snorkel equipment, beach towels and chairs, are in good shape and free to use.
She enjoys giving a nickle tour around her favorite places in the area and advice on what to do.
We highly recommend the place.
Laretta was a great host. she was very kind and friendly. house was kept very clean and well stocked. She also offered to take on tour of the area but I couldn't join it since I stayed there shortly than I planned. The room was exactly same with describing.
Laretta and Steve are "the super cool couple" I've ever met! The place is well organized, and the room is really, really clean! Laretta took the guests for a tour and bought yummy smoothie for us, and she is always working on improving Banana Patch! She is very caring person...and talking to the guests with smile on her face even she was very very tired after the night shift from her work. She is a Goddess!
Steve let the guests use their surfboard, bicycle, GoPro camera, jacuzzi even their car! They are very generous people and I strongly recommend to stay at Banana Patch to enjoy the staying in west side of Oahu. This area is the real Oahu. No tourists around. Oh, I picked and cooked some veggies and fruits and saved my $ for meal! :-)
Great place! Clean, comfortable and can be as private or social with other guests as you wish. Laretta provided a tour of the area which was very helpful as local information is scarce. The master bedroom (upstairs) was spacious with several windows and had a beautiful view of the mountain! We would certainly return.
Laretta was a wonderful host. She is fun and gave a tour and inside information about the area and beaches. Her place is very clean and modern. A very nice room with air-conditioning , comfortable bed, and excellent internet.
This side of the island is a local area, undeveloped and rustic but her place is just the perfect place to stay with all the nice amenities. Lots of beautiful beaches and gorgeous hikes. I hiked to the tip of the island and saw monk seals and nesting albatross.
I highly recommend her very nice and welcoming place.
Steve and Laretta were awesome. The house is clean and the room had plenty of space. The house was very welcoming, close to the beach and I would definitely stay there again.
We had a wonderful experience with Laretta and Steve! They were so kind and helpful. Both of them went above and beyond what was expected. Steve was wonderful in helping my girlfriend and I find fun activities to do on the west side of the island. The room was neat and organized and the house was in a great location. We will definitely be returning! Thank you.
I had a delay into HNL by about 7 hours so the hosts husband was there to meet me and show me around. Whilst I wasn't at the property very much the drive during the day was quite pretty and whilst not the nicest of neighbourhoods the property itself was safe and welcoming. The room had new carpet and plenty of storage, the bed was like the princess and the pea I just sunk right on in.
Should I need to stay on the west side of Oahu again I would most certainly stay with Laretta.
The only thing I did miss was being AirBnB I assumed there was breakfast - but admittedly did not check prior.
I had a wonderful time! Laretta was a great hostess and she always took care of each guest! I loved the tour she gives, she will tell you things that you wouldn't get except from a local. The house is friendly and unlike a hotel, you truly interact with the other guest. This is on the west side of the island so there aren't a lot of tourist around and beaches aren't as packed. I truly enjoyed my time there and will be back! This was my first time using Air B&B but it was a great one!
