My addiction to travelling stems from growing up in Hong Kong - since its a hub of Asia, it was always easy to goto Colombo, Koh Samui, Phuket, Sydney, Bombay, Dehli, Singapore, Kandy, Islamabad, etc. My friend and I are targeting a trip to Trinidad and Tobago next year, and then the World Cup in Brazil in 2014. .
My husband and I are foodies; we maintain a list of shacks and five star places we've eaten at: Cafe Versailles in Miami; Thai, Japanese, Fusion, Peter Luger Steaks in Brooklyn, classic pastrami sandwiches at Kat'z Deli, Ethiopian and Argentinean Meats and Grilled Corn with Mayo at Cafe Habana, Coffee at Gitane all in New York City!; dim sum and seafood favorities in Hong Kong are tried and tested; we've tried Portugese, Cuban, Italian and Malay food in Kuala Lumpur, however, the food and travel journey continues...
Workwise, I've been an academic at Universities and consultant to the US government more recently. At the moment, I'm working on writing my own collection of short-stories.
I love people - its my default setting! Many friends see how this has been a character flaw, and in some cases it is, but that's the package! I love socializing; I accept and respect people with all kinds of disposition - my friends are old couples, tattoed rock stars, dj's, models, wholesome families with kids, difficult graduates, irrational self-centered relatives. Its a whole range. Many of my close friends insist I should be a life -coach; they think I'm well-balanced and respect my opinion. Sweet.
As your host, I really want to give a WSYWIG experience - WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET! I myself have dragged suitcases from hotel to hotel, because of dodgy advertisements and want to avoid that for my guests. I'll be as involved as you want me to be. For places to go, eat, party in KL and braoder travel in Asia - I come with some solid recommendations! Really looking forward to welcoming you to this neighborhood, community, city, country or continent. You choose!
