Live in sunny Austin Texas. Have a garden out back and teach a local gardening class. Have traveled to Paris, Amsterdam, London, Marrakech, Moscow, and Berlin. Would love to travel to Buenos Aires and the coast of Croatia next.

My friends and I stayed at Alex & Miranda's bungalow for ACL 2 weekends ago and it was perfect. It's located in a quiet area of Austin but within walking distance to Congress and some great restaurants. The house is super cute and the hosts were really great to communicate with. Both Alex and Miranda were very quick to respond to all messages and were very flexible on check-in & out. Plus we were left with some great coffee in the grinder! I would definitely stay here again if I visited Austin.
I was in town for SXSW and this house was perfect!. Miranda was incredibly communicative and the layout and instructions for the house were clear and super helpful. The neighborhood is very close to South Congress and the entire stay was comfortable and homey. Stay here if in Austin!
We really had a great experience with Alex and Miranda! We rented the house for SXSW for our team members. The house was clean and comfortable for our team. Miranda was very attentive to detail and responsive to questions. We were very satisfied with out experience and would definitely rent from them again!
Alex was a great host : perfectly responsive , straightforward, and helpful. Their home was a lovely location in our favorite neighborhood in Austin - clean, spacious, creative. We felt right at home!
Alex and Miranda were excellent. The apartment was returned in spotless condition. I would love to have them in the apartment when they return to Buenos Aires.
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Alex's place and couldn't have asked for a better experience. The place was very clean, spacious and open and had that ever so elusive characteristic, style. Alex himself was incredibly helpful with getting around town and recommending places to eat out. If you are lucky enough to stay with him while he is in town and he offers to feed you, don't pass it up. The man can cook!
Alex is probably the only person in the world I'd trust to search faraway lands for mysterious hidden casbahs, then contemplate a swim in hideously oily seas before thinking better of it and drinking Pastis with truck drivers and their prostitutes until the sun comes up.
That's not true. I'd do these things with just about anybody. But I'd have the most fun doing them with Alex.
Also, he makes tacos like he means it, his ceviche recipe should be stolen at all costs, and he's a standup host. It's your huge loss if you don't know him, but hopefully that's a problem you can fix.
Alex's house is awesome (as is Alex himself!)
I have used his home as a writing studio a couple of times and it is very comfortable. It has a sunny, open living room, a big, well-appointed kitchen (as Alex is quite the cook) and three bedrooms. It is located in the very quaint Travis Heights, which is close to everything Austin has to offer - restaurants, shops, clubs, downtown, and the artsy East Austin. The house is very family friendly, too!
I would absolutely recommend this house to anyone coming to Austin for a visit.
