Nikki & Nicholas were, hands down, the BEST GUESTS EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They arrived in Vancouver around noon from a week-long circle drive through the rockies --- and I expected them to come not before early evening --- needless to say, the place was not at all ready for them, as we did have to do some last minute renovations in their room due a small leak in their bathroom. They totally took it in stride and were very understanding and helped me feel more at ease. Their mother even assisted with last-minute cleaning, vacuuming, making beds (which was a big help and much appreciated) while N&N and their aunt went off to return the rental car . They stayed at my place for 6 weeks, and we had quite a few wonderful dinners together. They were excellent cooks, and I very much enjoyed the Singaporean cuisine they brought to the table. I have not had a chance to travel to Asia yet, so they patiently answered my questions about Singapore. I was looking forward to more meals and good company, but unfortunately I got sick during the last three weeks of their stay, and had to leave them to their own devices. They were very independent visitors, anyway, and kept the place clean and tidy in my absence. Most of all, they are a truly delightful couple --- friendly, helpful, open, generous, very considerate of the other people in the house, and they both have the most radiant smiles which brightened up the whole house --- as I said, the best guests I could have wished for. If you have the chance to host them, don't pass it up --- you will meet two truly wonderful young people. I won't come as a surprise that I recommend them most highly to any future hosts. I truly enjoyed hosting them, and I sincerely hope to have the pleasure to meet them again as friends some day, either in Vancouver, or somewhere else in the world. Given their positive and easy-going nature, I could also see them as great travel companions, and I had secretly hoped to be able to take them to Tofino and Long Beach on Vancouver Island, as that is one of my favourite places in the world. But, alas, I got sick, and it wasn't possible to do it this time. But if they ever wanted to drive across Canada, or parts of it, I would try to make the time to go with them at least part of the way, or, at the very least, to lend them my car, so they could go further on a given budget. Wherever they go, in their life, in their work and careers, I wish them the very best: Health, prosperity, happiness in themselves, their families, fulfilment of their dreams and goals, good chi, great balance in their lives, and, most of all, to live well, to love and be loved, to give and receive, to achieve whatever their hearts...
