If you're looking for a fun place to stay that is convenient to Palm Springs, stay here! Steve is an excellent host. He was willing to let us arrive early, made us a great barbecue dinner, and gave us some great pointers about some of the local attractions. Plus, he is just a really great guy--very personable, and really does his best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Our family of four slept comfortably in the RV. It was clean, comfortable, and private. The only down point was that our star-gazing opportunities were limited due to the clouds. Even though our stay was at the end of February, we were able to get in some paddle-boating time on the lake--lots of fun for our kids!
If you're looking for a place to stay in the Palm Springs area, you should definitely consider staying here!
My sister and I stayed with Steve for two nights and had a great time! This was our first time using Airbnb and Steve was a superb host. He made us hamburgers over the first the night we arrived and delicious breakfast the next morning. In addition to ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed, he was also a great communicator and made the experience fun and stress free.
The motor home was incredibly comfortable! It was so nice to have our own space - complete with a kitchen - so close to Palm Springs without having to pay for an expensive hotel in the city. The property is beautiful and Steve was a great host! We'd definitely stay again.
Steve - how I love this kind man. We were here only for 1 night coming up from the Desert Hills Premium Outlets (at 8pm) and en route to Palm Springs Aerial Tramway (out by 8.30pm the following morning), but Steve treated us no less for this - treating us to a BBQ dinner and to tea and strawberries in the morning. He regaled us with stories of the wilderness, of his poor 160-pound tortoise (ran over a car on the highway) of the stars, of his grandiose plans. It was never a dull moment here and a truly native 'American' desert experience for us tourists.
Steve gave me a special gift after I mentioned a magic word of a historic figure planted in Palm Springs (no I am not going to tell you what is the magic word :) that left an unforgettable memory for us. I am going to frame Steve's special present as a memento of our great time here at his place!
Steve was a delightful host. We arrived later than planned and he cheerfully waited up to greet us and offer s'mores over the fire.
The motor home is in very good condition and we slept comfortably in the bed. There was a nice kitchen, shower and air-conditioner inside although we didn't have a need on our one night stay to use them.
Steve made us a great breakfast at camp to have before we set off to stroll through the Whitewater area which is just up the road.
We enjoyed hearing about the area and shared some stories relaxing around the camp.
The camp offers a great creative space to enjoy for your overnight stay and Steve is a kind and gracious host.
Great host and experience. Perfect distance to Palms Springs without having to stay in town. Loved the lake and the pedal boat! Thanks so much, Steve!
Steve was amazing, helpful and knowledgeable. We felt very welcomed.
We had a really nice stay in Steve's RV. Steve is a lovely guy - very talkative and helpful. It was a bit like a homestay, which we enjoyed. The RV was comfortable, quirky, and well temperature controlled. His dogs, while huge, are sweethearts once they settle down, and the ranch is conveniently located between two highways, Palm Springs, Desert Hot Springs, and the road to Joshua Tree. There is some road noise, given the ranch's proximity to the 10, but it wasn't enough to bother us. We especially recommend that visitors take the Aerial Tramway up to the top of mountain and enjoy the gorgeous, chilly hikes up there.
Unique experience, no frills. About 10-15min to downtown Palm Springs. The host, Steve, is very friendly and accommodating. I would stay again.
The only slight drawback - it's in a very windy area...so at times the RV was shaking :) Steve said it was unusually windy that weekend, but I think it's windy pretty much all the time - it is one the windiest areas in Southern California hence all the windmills around....so bring some earplugs, it can get noisy :)
Really great- not too far from town- close to hiking trails and a river! -we saw a herd of bighorn sheep
Steve was the sweetest host. And he makes a good scrambled, with veggies and eggs!
He has a little lake with a boat cycle which we had a go in.
The location is peaceful, which is amazing, since the rv´s located between two highways.
Steve has really got a special place there, with lots vintage and antics decorations in the middle yard, where the "hang out" area is.
Steve is a great guy - friendly and down to earth. He'll make you feel welcome and at home while giving you inspiration with just a few of his interesting ideas. An avid conversationalist - he can entertain and make you laugh. I've known Steve for less than a year now, but he's pretty much my neighbor in the 'pass' - I've enjoyed multiple BBQ's at his place as well as relaxed for many hours in his lake. Stagecoach Springs in Whitewater is a great place to visit.
