The Settler's Loft is a magical and blissful escape from reality! The description and pictures of the home is 100% accurate....if not better in person. It truly is a peaceful and beautiful place to get away and relax. We loved the decor and homey feel. The electric fireplaces provide more than enough heat. The soaker tub is a wonderful bonus. The balcony off the master bedroom is a wonderful retreat in the morning with a cup of tea/coffee to enjoy the crisp morning air. We loved that we felt totally secluded at the farm. We arrived at night so when we woke up in the morning, the surroundings were a complete surprise. If we had known there was a firepit, we definitely would have taken advantage. Although it began snowing, we took advantage of the grounds and wandered around through the woods. It was so memorable! If I had to nitpick, I would say the one negative thing was that when we arrived there was a terrible smell. We discovered that the garbage was never taken out previously. Once we removed the garbage and left the windows open for a while, the smell was gone. Steve and Jane welcomed us with delicious scones and jam that we were so thankful for! Everything you need for a relaxing getaway, you can find at the Settler's Loft!
This is the most beautiful little getaway. We stayed in November and it was so warm and welcoming. The attention to detail is impeccable and the interior design is perfection from the colours on the wall to the matching throw pillows, you will feel at total relaxation.
The house is very cute, in the middle of the wood. Therefore it's very very quiet at night (and day).
The beds vere very comfortable, and so were the duvets (that I particularly loved!)
Steve & Jane made everything to make our trip easier and gave us so many advice of the things to do.
The kitchen is well equiped, the inside house style has a lot of character, and we were all charmed by that.
A great trip at Steve&Jane's place!
Wonderful place! Great hosts!
The farmhouse was more amazing than we could imagine. The pictures do not do it justice. There was firewood waiting for us outside at the fire pit. A beautiful pond in the back overlooking amazing foliage. The house itself is BIG. Beds were very comfortable, even the day one in the kitchen. The Kitchen was big enough to cook for 14 people with no issues. Instructions were all very clear. We loved this place 10/10.
We had a great stay in this rustic and lovely cottage. The location is right on the water; sunrises are a thing of beauty each morning! The cottage is very well stocked and there was plenty of sleeping space for our party of 6 people. As we went in mid-October to see the fall colours in the Bruce Peninsula area and Tobermory, the weather was a bit chilly but the cottage had excellent and plenty sufficient heating. The water in the kitchen tap is perfectly fine to drink, though some may mind the taste. The location is a little over 1 hour from Tobermory and about 40 min from Southampton/Sauble Beach, well situated to do a variety of fun activities. Overall, an excellent cottage to complement a wonderful outdoor adventure in Ontario!
We had a wonderful weekend at Jane & Steve's place. The home is set far back from the road, down a long tree-lined driveway and sits on a wonderful piece of land. It was great to have a huge meadow right out the front door to play with our son! The home itself is exactly as pictured. It's cosy, comfortable and unique. Close to lots of interesting places in the area, we would love to make a return visit in the future! (Oh, Jean's tea biscuits and jams are out of this world!)
The place was very cozy and welcoming. The area surrounding the cabin was lovely and we enjoyed a good wander around. I would totally recommend this spot for a relaxing weekend.
It was a pleasure to host Steve and Jane. They are very nice and enthusiastic , that wanted to explore every corner in Madrid city.
