I have stayed here several times, and it continues to be a pleasant place.
This was fine for my purposes - quiet, large enough to work in, and well-located (close to public transport, shops, and some nice places to eat). Having tea and coffee facilities provided made a big difference. Chris was a polite host, answering my emails very promptly and helping me to arrange keys for an early check out. Thanks!
The place is pretty much as it is described. We barely run into Chris - probably because we stayed there for only two nights and because it was a long weekend - but he responded promptly every time we needed to check something with him. The great thing about the place is that having the third floor for yourselves gives you great independence. Now, keep in mind that the kitchen is not included - so you cannot cook there (and you have to wash your dishes on the bathroom)- and also that the bathroom/shower is quite small. Other than that, the place is comfortable and location is very convenient.
This was our first AirBnB experience, and I am glad to say that we very much liked it and are in for more.
We loved every part of our stay: Chris' friendly way of making us feel at home, the comfortable and clean apartment, the extremely comfy beds as well as the complimentary organic breakfast items.
The location is very convenient: restaurants, bakeries and a supermarket are close by and it is just a short walk to Columbia Heights Metro Station. In spite of being so close to everything, the area is quiet, and each night was very relaxing. Parking your car in the street seemd safe, and there is no problem of finding a spot (however, be aware that the car needs to be moved on Tuesdays due to street cleaning!).
Would we stay at Chris' B&B again? Definitely YES!
What a very charming house in an incredibly convenient location for our four day stay. We felt very welcome and our space was perfect for the amount of time we visited DC. Very friendly and we appreciated the flexibility in our late arrival! Thank you Chris.
Everything was just fine! Chris and his roommates are nice, helpful, funny and welcoming people. Nevertheless, I have to admit, that it was kind of uncomfortable for two months having no fully equipped kitchen. For a shorter time I would deeply recommend this apartment, especially since it it well located (Metro, shops, laundromat, supermarket...).
Chris was a fantastic host. From the time of booking, through our arrival and during our stay of four nights, he responded to any request promptly, and followed through diligently.
The space was very nice, and the location great. The A/C system kept us comfortable through some very hot DC weather.
Chris was very responsive, and the house was fantastic. An exceptional value for its proximity to the Columbia Heights Metro and its size and pleasant atmosphere.
a great experience overall: chris was friendly and accommodating to our needs and good with communications; he strikes a good balance between giving you space and privacy but also being reachable if you need anything; listing was as described; house is beautiful with lots of character and is near lots of cool cafes and bars and all amenities (giant grocery store, wine shops, mini marts, target, etc; a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to metro but area is also very bike-able and walkable; great views of the city due to its elevation; very quick and easy to get to the mall and all tourist spots. the columbia heights neighborhood felt very safe walking around at night and was diverse racially/sexually so it was a welcome change from my impression of other areas of DC which seem more homogeneous and yuppified. i would definitely stay here again and recommend this place to friends :-)
Great stay with Chris. We had everything we needed. I would only suggest that the bathroom get a little more cleaning and the bedsheets get duvet covers for easy cleaning each time. At night there are cars that pass by. I wore ear plugs to block out the sound. Its not alot of noise but its there. If you are a light sleeper like me bring the ear plugs. It was a comfortable stay overall though. The walk to the train was easy. About 15 min. Lots of shops nearby. The heat was warm and we were thankful for that since we were coming back from a rainy day all weekend. Another thing is that as soon as you get up to the 3rd floor which is the top floor the side where the stairs and door are is not a wall but its actually a glass window separating your room from the stairs so you can hear the people who live there moving around downstairs. You would need to get changed in the bedroom for more privacy. It didnt really bother me since chris and the others do not come upstairs so we had the privacy. It was a good stay and had everything needed. Girls bring a hair dryer.
Excelente persona muy educada y tranquila
Realmente una persona muy amigable
Chris was a pleasure to host, he was very respectful of the apartment and left it in good order. I would not hesitate to host him again.
Was very clean and quiet. Did not ask for much and was a pleasure. Would definitely reccommend again and to anyone.
Chris was a great guest (quiet & clean), for his brief stay in Leesburg. We had to make a change with the check-out time and he easily agreed to having to leave a little earlier. We would definitely welcome Chris back for a stay in our cottage!
Chris was a great guest! Communicative and clean - would absolutely have him back again!
Chris was a repeat visitor with us, and we were so happy to welcome him back! As always, he was charming, neat, fun, and an all-around wonderful guest. We look forward to his future visits.
Chris is a lot of fun. His job in sustainability at American University makes for plenty of interesting conversations, particularly about sore energy of residential homes and other green energy and conservation topics. He also is interested in beer brewing which isn't a bad thing to talk about either. Besides that he was also a great guest and I would recommend him to anyone.
Chris was communicative and friendly during his brief visit.
Chris stayed for the weekend after his conference and was an excellent guest! He communicated well, and left the apartment in such good shape when he departed I could hardly tell he was there...other than the wonderful beer he left behind (thank you!). And he promptly left a review. Everything about his reservation went off without a hitch, and I would not hesitate to rent to him again. I highly recommend Chris if you're considering him as your next guest!
Chris & his girlfriend were model AirBnb guests. I had the pleasure of meeting them when they arrived and they were super sweet. I had complete confidence that they'd take great care of my place and they did. Everything was in perfect order when I came home and they even watered my plants.
Thanks guys, and come and stay again!
