I am a psychologist on the adjunct clinical faculty at Stanford Medical School. I also direct a training program for doctoral level psychologists in a large nearby clinic. Sally and I have been married for thirty years, though it doesn't seem so. We lived in Palo Alto, California for 25 years, Pacific Grove, CA before that. We have a daughter who is a nurse practitioner in Providence and a son in graduate school.
We both are interested in reading, travel, old movies, nature, family. I am a classically trained musician and still listen to a lot of music. I tend to be the cook in the family and my wife the gardener, although during our kids' childhood, their mom was chief cook. The last two years we have traveled to Brittany in April. Too bad-- the last time it rained all week so we took off for Paris, and then Bavaria. Great trip despite the rain! I visit friends in New York once a year and have for many years. As guests we are quiet. We tend to do much of the cleaning ourselves before leaving, because we don't like to leave mess behind us.
For me, favorite magazines: Cooks Illustrated, Absolute Sound, Times Literary Supplement, New York Review, favorite movies: The Philadelphia Story, Casablanca, The Rules of the Game, Wild Strawberries, favorite travel destinations: Manhattan, Brittany in France. Favorite food: too many to mention.
