Lawrence is a great host. I had a few questions for him during our stay and he always answered his phone right away and was extremely accommodating. He does not offer wifi, which we can't live without (I carry my work with my on the road and I must get online every day), but the coffee shop around the corner has free wifi. A local pub supposedly has it, too, though I didn't feel comfortable going in there to check my email, with everyone sitting around drinking and socializing. (I was able to sit on the public bench outside and tap into someone's unsecured wifi, though!) Lawrence's apartment is quite large and offered plenty of space for the 4 of us. It's also a very handy central location, right near the highway, the train, and not far from downtown as well as the airport.
We really enjoyed our stay at Lawrence's place. It is a big apartment, with enough room for 4 people and we saved a lot of cash on the food since we cooked our meals instead of eating in restaurants all the time. We would certainly recommend Lawrence's place to anyone on a tight budget that want to travel to Chicago and still save some money. We would suggest also to get the Go Chicago card and a weekly public transit card to save even more money when travelling to Chicago.
Lawrence was a great host. The apartment was actually larger than the pictures make it seem and was in a nice neighborhood. Less than a 5 minute walk to the blue line. Next time I am in the area I will definitely be trying to rent this place again.
Lawrence was a great host. The apartment was bigger than it looked in the photos and they didn't do it justice. It is also near the 24 hour blue line train which takes you to downtown in about 25mins and you can also very easily transfer to other lines to visit all the citys attractions. There's a local food market very close to the apartment and also a late opening 7-Eleven and Jewel Osco supermarket about 10 - 12mins walk away should the local market be closed. Lawrence was very welcoming and gave the 3 of us complete privacy during our stay. This is the first time I have rented private accomadation for a holiday and I would definitely do it again. Cheaper and more privacy than a hotel room and it feels more like home when you return at the end of the day. If I was in town again, I would definitely stay at Lawrence's place.
A fantastic apartment. A bit out of town but with easy access to public transport ( 30 mins or so to downtown). Photos don't do it justice - its a big apartment! Lawrence doesn't mention it much but it is in a great neighbourhood -supermarket/bars etc within walking distance plus direct train from airport makes it a great place for visitirs without a car. But if you have a car easy parking. And yes the prepay broadband works fine.
A great place - would happily stay again
Lawrence was awesome - he provided all the necessary items for a perfect stay (towels, bedding, kitchen appliances/utensils, etc.). Oak Park is a quiet and beautiful community, and the home is located minutes from the train line (and only 15 minutes to downtown). With two AC units and a grocery store minutes away, the elements for a relaxing summer stay are all at hand. Explore the area and explore Chicago at your own pace, knowing you have a private place to rest your weary body. To Lawrence, thank you once again, eh? Your hospitality and friendliness were everything we Canadians were hoping to find!
We had a great time. The apartment was big and clean and the neighborhood was very quiet. The train was very close too! We would definately stay here again for the great price!
Lawrence's place is a great place to stay at when visiting Chicago!
I was travelling with 3 young kids and the apartment gave us plenty of space and a homey feeling (instead of being crammed in a hotel room!). It's in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. We enjoyed the short walk to the train station and to the grocery store. Lawrence is a very friendly and accommodating host (BTW, thank you for the toaster and the hair dryer!!.)
We would love to come back again. Thank you Lawrence!

We had a great stay in Chicago. The apartment is spacious and very close to the blue line that will take you directly to Downtown. Lawrence is a great host and we got along very well.
The apartment was an ideal place to stay while we visited relatives. Lawrence was an excellent host.
