Nice studio. Perfect if you are looking for a private place to stay. Keith is really friendly and willing to help.
Keith was a great host, very helpful with great suggestions for things to do around the island. Aloha house is a great place, clean with comfortable (soft) beds and awesome pillows. It is quite central and close to lots of amenities including Wholefoods and some malls. Beaches are quite a drive away but that it to be expected if you live in town. The other housemates are really great people. Everyone is honest and considerate and cleans up after themselves. It's a great place to be. The only comment I would make is that for a lot of the stay I was unable to use the beautiful kitchen in the pictures (which was one of my main reasons for booking) and instead a smaller kitchen with no oven but still a two burner hob and lots of fridge space so if that particular kitchen attracts you check before you book. Otherwise it was brilliant.
Nice and quiet neighborhood.
The Aloha House was a great experience. Keith took good care of me and provided everything I would need for my stay. My room was just as promised and comfortable. I would recommend Aloha House anytime.
My 30 days were perfect in Aloha Studio. It is clean, comfortable, quiet and perfect for staying.
Keith and his family, are polite and attentive.
I highly recommend it.
Response from Aloha:
Thanks Victor! Great to host you in Palo Alto. Glad you enjoyed the trip!
Keith was a wonderful host. He was very easy to communicate with and he was accommodating to my needs especially when my plans changed last minute.
When I stayed there, there were people moving in and out, and they were rearranging furniture, but it didn't bother me since I was out most of the days. The home is beautiful, and I was quite comfortable staying there.
Overall, I recommend this place if you're on you're own in Maui.
Response from Aloha:
Thanks Vinson! The house is all settled now. No more furniture moving. :)
I had a great time spent in Aloha Studio House. They are welcoming and kind people. You have your own privacy and space. I had the possibility to leave my bike inside their yard. Keith has been really helpful with me as soon as i arrived. I would suggest this accommodation for period of stay as long as mine (one month). The location is also great if you are a visitor at Stanford; by bike it is only 15-20 minutes.
We spent 5 nights at Aloha and it was just what we needed....comfortable beds, a relaxing living area, working wi-fi and a hot shower. As we were out at meetings most days, we only spent a little time there but it was relaxing nonetheless. We were lucky enough to have enjoyed some unseasonal hot weather so the pool was a welcome way to cool off on a couple of occasions. Thanks to our hosts for making our stay most enjoyable and we look forward to coming back. Jan
Magical stay exceeded my highest expectations!
I was lucky enough to stay at Aloha House while working at Stanford as a visiting researcher for a two and a half months. The lovely hosts and perfect location get my very highest recommendation!
THE HOSTS: a warm, active professional family with a lot of international experience. They had great connections to the university and within silicon valley, and I feel lucky to have gotten to know such inspiring people! They had great recommendations, advice, and patience, and are very positive people. Staying with them is really one of the reasons my work went so well-- my colleagues were jealous! This amazing family helped me get the most out of my time at Stanford.
THE LOCATION: a perfect location for biking to Stanford. I also biked to Castro St. on Mountain View. California Ave (with a great Sunday market, cafes and yoga studios) is within a short bike ride, too. The house is one block off the "bicycle boulevard" which runs to downtown Palo Alto and to Stanford. Great bus connections too, on El Camino or Middlefield. TWO grocery stores within walking distance (Piazzas and Miki's-- both just a two or three blocks away)! Peet's Coffee and Starbucks within walking distance. Didn't have trouble parking on the street when I had a zip car, but was absolutely fine at this location without a car. The neighborhood is very safe and comfortable for a woman to walk and bicycle around in at all hours.
THE HOUSE: a good feeling original Eichler in what locals seem to call the Eichler circles. If you like architecture or mid-century modern style, this location is a special treat. The house, true to style is full of light. The pool is an added bonus! It was warm enough to swim in October. My bed was super comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped. I felt very comfortable keeping my bicycle in the yard and never had any problems.
In short, this is an amazing place, with spectacular hosts. This is that better-than-hotel experience you are hoping for with Air BnB. The last day I was in the house, in December, there was a heavy rain, which cleared into sunshine. Above the beautiful pool in the steal gray sky was a true double rainbow! I couldn't believe it; it was the perfect symbol of this extraordinary stay. I got a lot of good work done while staying there, but it was also simply magical.
I can highly recommend staying at Aloha house. I stayed there for a week, until my apartment was available. I needed a room within the day and got a direct response from Keith that the room was available. Although I had booked the bedroom, they let me stay in the studio with private entrance for the same price. Everything I needed was there: big closet, king bed, sofa, fridge, microwave, bathroom, towels, kitchen utilities... Everything was perfectly clean.
The price is very reasonable for the area, and the location was good: in a quiet residential street, you can bike to Stanford, there is a supermarket a few blocks away.
Keith & Michiko (& Harmony) were great hosts, helped me out with everything I needed, and invited me to have dinner with them. They even gave me a ride to my new place!
