Everything about the Cozy Cottage was great! It was in a great location and it matched the photos we saw on-line. Mary was very gracious and welcoming. The extras that were available like the beach bikes were great. Like others have said the parking was a bit challenging, but it wasn't too bad once we got the hang of it. I very much appreciated how clean it was. This was our first airbnb experience and we'll certainly try it again.
Mary's place was perfect for our needs while in LA - the perfect blend of nice quiet street and location but 50m from the beach and not far from Venice/Santa Monica etc. Apartment was nice and clean and well equippes with everything we needed. Mary was responsive to any queries and questions we had so thanks again Mary for a great stay, we loved our time in LA
My girlfriend and I recently stayed in Mary's unit. It was a great decision. I thought I would share a little history about our choice to help those looking for the right place to stay while visiting Grand Cayman Island. I typically go directly to TripAdvisor and I normally stay in hotels near the hot spot's in the case of the Grand Cayman Island, Seven Mile Beach. I looked at the Ritz Carlton and the Westin Hotel which are both very nice and right on Seven Mile Beach. The Ritz would have been $800 a night (with resort fees and taxes) so you can see the value in Mary's unit. Our ability to walk into either resort, buy a umbrella drink and get treated like royalty further confirmed my decision. Mary's unit is a short 10 min drive from 7 Mile. Her unit was extremely nice and she added fresh flowers to top it off. Sandy her assistant meet us at the airport rental car agency and lead us to the property. She was very friendly and made us feel welcome. The unit included a local cell phone which was nice addition. The property is quite and very relaxing, it has a pool, BBQ area and private beach. One of the nicest restaurants on the island (Pappagallo) is literally across the road from the unit and is very romantic. Being able to get away from the tourist area was a bonus. I would have gotten a rental car either way and the total for a very compact car minus added insurance was $124. Having a rental car is a must for those who want to see the whole island. Some of the recommended things we did... Stingray City (Very cool bring a waterproof camera or GoPro). Blow Hole and stop off at the Light house Restaurant for sunset (opens at 5:30). Cemetery Beach great for snorkeling. Turtle Farm (they allow you to hold the turtles). Shopping in Georgetown (total tourist trap so order a Crabarita at Margaritaville which can only help). If I could go back and do it over again there is noting I would change about my trip and decision to stay in Mary's unit. Thank you Mary for allowing us to rent your unit. We look forward to coming back next year.

Fantastic house and working with Mary was wonderful! I've stayed in a number of rental homes/condos (through another site this is my 1st with Air B&B). This is one of the best I've stayed in. It is stocked with just about anything you could want! Combine that with the beach just steps away and I will definitely be back!
We absolutely loved our stay at Mary's place. Communication was awesome during my booking and upon arrival. The place was more than we expected. It was so super cozy and clean that we felt like we were in a place of a close friend, not in a rental unit. I do not appreciated the cleanliness of every detail and condo was stocked with everything you need for a living. What pleasantly surprised me is that every item was a high quality, like you would buy it for yourself. Mary even had a dutch oven in which i make a PHENOMENAL Cayman spiced chicken (buy it already spiced at Foster's food market, you will love it!).
We had a car and enjoyed exploring every corner of the island and hit as many beeches as we got refereed to us. It was such a pleasure to come "home" every evening. We kept noticing how nicely the place smelled. I own my business, so internet access was crucial for me and it worked flawlessly as Mary has her own unit and does not relay on the condo complex. Mary provided us with a cell phone which was a nice treat for local calls if we needed. Mary checked on us when we settled it and Sandy checked on us twice to see if we need anything. Really, it was a super amazing experience.
My husband and i spent a week at Mary's place and a second week at a condo on 7 mile beech. We so much regretted not staying at Mary's for the second week as our other condo was the quality and cleanliness of a Motel 6. We hated it (and it was more expensive).
You need to get a car to get to Mary's place, but car rental was cheap ($242 for 2 weeks midsize). Plus we never like to restrict ourselves to close by touristy activities and try to always get a car. If we will go to Cayman again,. we will definitely stay at Mary's place. I still cannot get over how much love and care i felt that she put in to the rental place. It did not feel like a rental. Thank you so much for an amazing place for us to enjoy!
The apartment is exactly as pictured, very nicely furnished and decorated, with a large kitchen, great bed, and everything one might need when on vacation. For two persons, the apartment is spacious. It is located in a quiet and nice neighborhood on Grand Cayman. The beach is immediately in front of the entrance, for all other spots on the island you probably need a car.
We found no flaws at all and were very very happy to stay in Mary's apartment, we felt right at home. Mary was super easy and friendly to communicate with. In addition, we arrived very (!) late on a Saturday evening, and Mary and Sandy (the manager) were still able to accomodate access to the apartment.
We had a great time and recommend this listing to everyone.
Thanks Sandy, thanks Mary.
This property is amazing. The house is very cozy and comfortable and situated in a quiet, safe neighborhood with direct access to a gorgeous beach. It is within walking distance of Venice Beach and Marina del Rey and a short Uber drive to Santa Monica, LAX or Malibu.
The property came fully equipped with EVERYTHING we could have needed - cookware, dishwasher, linens, wifi, washer/dryer - even food staples like pasta, coffee and tea. Both bedrooms and bathrooms were clean, quiet and well maintained. Even the neighbors were nice!
Mary and Reyna were both exemplary throughout the process. Both were very accommodating and easy to work with. If you are having any doubts about booking this property, do not. You will not be disappointed! Being able to stay here made my whole trip to Los Angeles amazing, and I cannot wait to return!
My family and i stayed in Mary's house at Marina Del Rey for 3 days. It was a beautiful house with a lot of space. The beach was literally a one minute walk from the house. I arrived from a short trip to Japan and the washing machine was so awesome because i had some laundry to do haha.
The house is only a short distance by car to the airport as well as more touristy places like santa monica pier.
Really enjoyed my stay at Mary's. Strongly recommend!
We stayed in Mary's house for 10 days in October with 4 persons.
Positive: The cottage is really next to the sea. 2 Bodyboards, 2 bicycles, Football and beachtennis- stuff is available. Spinnacker Street ( little street with only a few houses) and the area is very nice and quiet and Venice and Santa Monica is close. The interior is as seen on the pics and in the kitchen you find all you need. All rooms are fine and comfortable. The TV offers also (website hidden) TV and Netflix. In the sleeping rooms it's very hot, but you can use the Ventilators and air condition.
Not so positive: The neighbors above do have little children who get up early and run around; the floor is very thin. The sleeping room with the 2 beds does not give much space for clothes or suitcases, just a commode to use, but no wardrobe. I hanged up the clothes hanger into the bathroom, which is no problem.
Specially on the weekend the parking situation is a bit difficult; then you have to search on the main road and walk a few blocks. The flat is a bit dark, the windows does not give much light, because the next houses around are very close.
We missed some instructions how things are working (TV/rubbish/stove), but you can ask Mary and she answers very quick.
But beside all these little deficits we had a great stay and were happy to be away from street noise and so close to the Pacific. There was nothing to complain which wasn't able to fix or organize comfortable for ourselves.
Mary and her family were extremely nice and easy to communicate with;) I would recommend them as tenants in a heart beat and would be very happy to host them an other time!!
Mary and her sons were great guests. Mary was easy to communicate with and they left our home in terrific condition. Thanks so much!
