Alon's place was absolutely AWESOME. Alon (email hidden). He answered all of our questions before and during our stay. The place is gorgeous and even better than how he described it. We went with 2 young children (1 & 3) and the place was perfect for them. Building was nice and clean as well, and very quiet compared to usual places in NYC.
The neighborhood is very nice. Apartment is within minutes of the subway station, market, etc. Basically anything you need to feel at home while visiting NYC.
Bed was very comfortable, very nice and new appliances, great WiFi, well furnished and decorated throughout. Very clean and well taken care of.
Do not hesitate to book this place. Alon rocks & his apartment is absolutely great!
This review is on behalf of my parents who had the pleasure of staying at Alon's apartment for a week:
"Beautiful apartment in a nice building with a great kitchen, plenty of space in a very convenient neighborhood. On a quiet residential block but stores and great restaurants a few blocks away. Laundry in basement of building and community garden out back. About 10 mins to subway (7 line). Alon was prompt and (website hidden) place to stay in NYC for those wanting more than just a tourist/Times Square experience. We felt like real NYers!
We had a lovely stay at Alon's place in Queens, and I am happy to report that the pictures are all true!! In fact, I would say that the charm of the place cannot be quite captured by what is on view. Alon has done a wonderful job of decorating the place up - be it the furnishings, or the knick knacks and the books that were on display.
Our day would start trying to wake up - and dare I say, that was a hard task, given how comfortable the mattress was (one of my peeves, when I stay at a B&B). Right there, it was money well spent, given the quality of sleep I got. Then it would be onwards to the lovely kitchen, where we enjoyed our morning cup of Joe, looking out the window to see a view of the serene backyards, with all the green on display. Hard to believe that we were in NYC. At some point, we would start getting ready - and trying to leave the comforts afforded... and I was actually glad that there was no TV!! Otherwise I may have not made it out!! In the evenings, we would return to a place that became a second home... and wash away all the days grime! Wonderful shower to do just that.
As far as the surroundings go - nice building and neighborhood. Grocery and drugstore were close. Good ethnic dining options in Queens are close by... two of my favorite Thai restaurants in the entire NYC area - Zabb Elee and Ayada - were within walking distance, which is why we had initially chosen to stay with Alon. In the end, we found many more!

Thank you very much! Glad you guys enjoyed it.
My family and I (we're from Florida) visited New York and stayed at Alon's apartment in beautiful Jackson Heights, Queens. Our flight is was delayed, but Alon's nephew, Boris had no problem meeting us when we came in at 6pm, handing us the keys and giving us a tour. The apartment was absolutely beautiful!! And the building and neighborhood felt very safe. Just a couple blocks either north or south were streets full of shops, restaurants, groceries and pharmacies. The train station was a half a mile away, which for even a suburbanite, wasn't a bad walk at all, and kind of made us feel like New Yorkers during our stay ;) We had a rental car for part of the time, which we left at the apartment most days, so we could take the train in and not worry about city parking $$. During our stay, we got lucky with free street parking within a block of the apartment except for one night when we parked six blocks away - still not bad.
The apartment had 2 bedrooms and a pullout sofa in the living room. The master bedroom and pullout was plenty for my 2 adult kids and I. The other bedroom was a baby's room with a crib, so families with a baby would find this home perfect, too. There were TV's but no cable, which we knew about ahead of time, and since there's free wifi, anyone who stays there could just bring an hdmi cable and a laptop and watch Netflix if they wanted to. We had no plans to watch TV and were so beat by the end of the day, that we just relaxed and prepared for the next day. Plus it was fun to engage as a family without the usual electronics between us. Although we didn't eat in during our stay, we definitely could have in the gorgeous kitchen with all the plates, pans, glasses, etc. and great eating area. The bathroom was nice too. My daughter took a bath one night in the deep soaking tub. We only stayed five nights and wished it could have been longer. Communication with Alon was so easy, and they were both so accommodating with the check out as well. I thought our flight wasn't until 3pm, and Alon had no problem with our keeping the luggage in the apartment until that afternoon, but when I looked at the itinerary again towards the end of our stay, I realized it wasn't until 7pm! Which ended up not being a problem. Alon was so nice in letting us enjoy a full day in New York without having to worry about our bags, and Boris even took us to the airport for much less than a cab and much more convenience than the bus. We had a great stay at Alon's apartment; we got to live like a residents in a beautiful and safe part of the city. We would definitely go back!!
