Very clean room and comfortable bed. The kitchen was a little sparse though, sharing with the other guests. (It's basically a hostel). The bathroom was clean but the plumbing was not that great! Overall though a good experience and a really great location- near the Piazza di Santa Croce. Thanks Vladi!
The host canceled my reservation the day before arrival.
We've been talking by mail a lot with Vladimir before our stay in Florence, and everything seemed ok, but, when we arrived at the adress, as we didn't know which flat it was, we gave a phone call to the given number, but the person did not seem to know we should arrive... We finally enter the flat, and we met the "partner Giovani" who does not appear to know what a smile is...
Then, the room we had is not on the pictures, because it's a ugly & small room (we hardly put our two trolleys in there), and the worst is that the room wasn't ready at all, and to get towels, we had to pay two euros, but I said to Giovanni that Vladimir have said we would have free towels, Giovani accepts to give us some (always without a smile).
So, in brief words : DO NOT RENT A ROOM WITH VLADIMIR, HE DOES NOT EVEN EXIST !
The arrangement with Vladimir was our only setback of the month long trip to Europe. First of all, despite lengthy and frequent email correspondence, when we got to the address provided in Florence, a completely different person happened to be there to receive us, and not Vladimir, who was not even reachable by phone. This other person was quite stiff and said he did not have any rooms prebooked for us. You can imagine the shock we had. After multiple other phone calls to the number provided in the emails, a different partner in this whole scheme, reluctantly agreed to look for an alternate place for us. We were in Florence only for 2 days and it did not start well at all. After several more phone calls, this third person said he has found us a room. Finally when we met him in the evening, and walked and walked and walked with our heavy backpacks to this new address, we find an absolutely disgusting room with broken furniture and smelling of drains. Fortunately he did change the bedsheets, but did not have any towels! When we asked about it, he very rudely replied it was not in the contract!!!! The man was not in the least bit apologetic for firstly causing us so much of inconvenience and anxiety, and secondly forcing us to stay in a room which was obviously not habitable and more importantly was not the room that was promised to us or what we paid for!!! We are still working with airbnb to get a refund.
We warn everyone to be very careful dealing with this host, and strongly recommend not dealing with him at all.
It appears Vladimir Damjanovski has four listings on AirBnB.
“Luxorious appartament at Signoria”
“B1- cozy room in Florence center”
“Backpackers Florence -Ponte Vecchio”
“Belmondo Rooms Florence”
The one that I had booked was the “Luxorious appartament at Signoria”. Four days before my arrival date, Vladimir sent me an e-mail notifying me that my original reservation was not available due to a broken water pipe. An alternative accommodation was offered (not listed on AirBnB). Because I was already traveling and had limited internet, I had little choice but to accept the alternative.
When I arrived, the multi-unit apartment door was locked. I called Vladimir’s “partner Giovani” as instructed. Although I did not talk to Vladimir or Giovani, someone showed up 15 minutes later to let us in. Fortunately, it had stopped raining… Once let in, I had to walk 15 minutes back with the man to a run down hostel check-in office in order to provide passport information. I then walked back to where the apartment was located. The round trip walk was about 35 minutes. By the time I got back, my wife had decided the place to be unsuitable and wished to leave immediately. Instead of a second floor, 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, 1,076ft^2 apartment with kitchen, washing machine and a view, we had found ourselves on the first floor (no view) of a hostel type bedroom and a private bathroom with no towels and plumbing that did not drain well. The filthy dirty kitchen was located across a patio space (flooded with 3 inches of water) and was shared with another bedroom/occupant. The living room was basically a hostel common area, complete with metal shelving and a cushy sofa.
I called and told whoever answered the phone that the patio was flooded and asked for towels. A man showed up 30 minutes later and provided two towels for the two of us for our 5 night stay. As he proceeded to drain the patio, I booked another room at a nearby hotel. We asked about the two bedroom, two bathroom 1,076ft^t apartment and were told that we got “one” room in a “two” bedroom apartment. I left after my 1 hour stay and very much enjoyed a luxurious hotel (fresh towels and free breakfast daily) for a total of just $9.00 more a night. I’m hoping to get a full refund from AirBnB. Vladimir assures me I will via e-mail.
For his acknowledgement of the problem, I give him two stars and not one.
It was a terrible experience in this room. We we're very confused upon our arrival there, because Vladimir was non-existent and it was a hostel, not a BnB or a hotel. We had no interest in staying in hostels on our trip. Anyway, the room looked good and spacious so we thought it couldn't be that bad, especially having our own bathroom. We were totally wrong. The bedspread was ripped unbelievably bad all along one edge, and the beds were super springy and unsupportive making them very uncomfortable. The room was right by the front door, so you could hear people coming and going all into the night. The guy who worked there was always outside our room too, sometimes with his girlfriend really late at night. Very disturbing to our sleep. Not to mention that the windows needed to be open at night to keep comfortable but there was a night club right next door, so the noise was unbearable until 3 am every day. Then the morning traffic started at 7:30 am with trucks and scooters whizzing by right outside our window. So we hardly slept the whole time we were there. Also, the shower leaked water allllll over our bathroom floor. Very annoying. This room nearly ruined our stay in Florence.
It was in a great location close to everything. The room was clean and the host respectful.
Nice room, private bathroom. Close to center. Strongly recommend!
it was ok experinece to stay there, bcoz when we arrived there no one want to open the door, i was try to call the owner but no one reply me ,even its happen when i told my arrival time to them,no one bother to help, after long time we able to in,but room was,nt reaDY ,all room was dirty,i have to fight for my room.
the only thing which staisfied me that its near to railway staion and dome.
There is a night club next door, so it's very noisy at night. The comforter was not that clean and there were flies in the bathroom. The young man who was on duty wasn't that friendly.
