Our second great stay at this darling beach bungalow! It was so nice to be directly on the beach, and the location is perfect for smooth driving to Honolulu and the North Shore without the hustle and bustle of the city; the stars and night ocean sky are just stunning. Also, JoAnn was very kind to us during and after our stay, and we felt welcome and at home!
Great location and loved the house. JoAnn was so helpful and sweet and gave us lots of great suggestions of things to do. We would have liked relaxing outdoors at the house but the next door neighbor used a table saw for hours each evening so it was not peaceful.
Very relaxing and scenic beach, with a great view of the sunsets and close to cute local shops. Overall great location with all the amenities necessary! It was easy to communicate with the host and we felt very welcomed. Would come back !
My girlfriend and I stay at Lorraine's place was easily the highlight of our trip. The location is perfect for finding some time away from all the crammed tourist areas while still having everything you could ever need. The house was exactly as described with a perfect view at all times. We will be returning next time we go to visit family there.
Lorraine wasn't in town for our stay, but her very nice neighbor, Jeanne, was there to welcome us and be around if there was anything else we needed. Thank you, Jeanne!
The location of this spot is so amazing, that it almost feels fake. There were times when we saw, literally, no one else on the entire stretch of beach, which couldn't be closer to your door. If you're looking for a casual, relaxed environment, in an incredibly peaceful yet powerful setting, this will do it. Just remember that if you're going in the hot summer months, there is no A/C..but there is a ceiling fan and two other fans to help out. Also, it is the bottom level of a three story house...but we lucked out, as no one else was in the house almost the entire time we were there. The kitchen is pretty well equipped, though there is no oven...just an electric hotplate. You can make it work if you're crafty. There is the old town of Haleiwa, less than a ten minute drive from this house...which should have pretty much everything you need. Hope this helps someone..
Lorraine's place is great and well equiped : washer/dryer, full kitchen, grill, equipment for snorkelling...
The place is extremely quiet and relaxing. We slept with windows wide open listening to the ocean.
The North Shore is magic : eautiful sunsets from the bungalow, great places to visit + magnificent beaches for snorkeling all around.
Our experience was wonderful and we'd definitely recommend Lorraine's place to our friends and family!
This place was a dream. Situated directly on the beach with everything you could possibly want in a small residential area close to Haleiwa. We were greeted by JoAnn, who provided us with excellent suggestions of what to do in the area. I wish we could have stayed at this place (website hidden) a bbq looking out at the sunset every night was beyond words. Honestly, would be back there in a heartbeat as I write this review from rainy England ;-)
What a perfect experience!!! Lorraine was a great communicator and helped my fiancee and I get easily situated. Additionally, the place is even better than described with a beach right out the back door. Nothing but great things to say about it, will hopefully go back next year.
The beachfront Bungalow was a wonderful property and looked exactly as pictured. It was stocked with ample beach towels, snorkels and boogie boards. Great if you are looking for a relaxing beautiful retreat in a quiet neighborhood. Jeanne was great host and great with communication. I would definitely visit the property again!
We stayed at Lorraine's excellent Beach Bungalow for 3 nights. Lorraine was very polite and friendly by mail. Her neighbor, Jeannie, who managed our stay, was extremely kind and helpful as well, and gave us lots of great tips about the area!
Thank you, so much Jeannie!
The Bungalow itself was very clean and well-equipped, and the beach was very nice, indeed: as other reviews have noted, it is truly beach-front! We listened to the waves every night, and felt rested even after rushing around during the day.
The area was quite convenient, with a number of surprisingly good restaurants (ranging from Tex-Mex to sushi), and the North Shore was an easy drive from Waikiki, etc at the end of the day.
We will make our next reservation at the Bungalow, soon!
