I'm a PhD student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. I'm working within computer science and statistics on large-scale network analysis, but I'm coming from a background in history of science and sociology so my work is strongly grounded in and oriented towards social science. Otherwise, I'm really into Hindustani music, I've been playing the sitar at an amateur level for about ten years. Some other scattered interests of mine are graphic design, early Chinese philosophy, evolutionary biology, and gamelan. Other than English, I speak Urdu and a bit of Japanese.
